Lone Star Spring 2011

Published

Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.

I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?

If you don't mind me asking what did you score on the math section?

I wasn't sure who your question was to, but I got 100 on the math section. :)

how did you prepare for the HESI? i just want to get a lot of advice...

im planning on taking the hesi this thursday at cyfair..

I also got a 100 on the math section.

The math is easy....just use the regular study guide. For the reading, Cyfair has a book in the library called "nursing school entrance exams". I found this guide to be much more helpful than the regular evolve study guide. It teaches u to first identify the type of question u are being asked. Once you do that, there is one obvious right answer. If you are still seeing two possible right answers, you are not reading the question properly.

I just took the hesi today guys,

i was really disappointed with my score..

i was able to get a 100 on the math..it was really easy, and im a math person so...i was happy with that

but my reading was 80.43% which im really bummed about...

that makes my score to...11.2172..

now im really worried, you guys have such high scores!! do you guys think i still have a chance?

they shouldnt just look at my hesi reading..i mean i have a 4.0 gpa...straight a's...etc..

but im still afraid i wont get in...but im gonna try my luck and apply with these scores anyway..

:) Stay positive, you will never know if you don't try. Perhaps you have a better score than others, try your best not to think about the scores posted on here. WE have all done the best we can, all we can do know is pray and wait for October's letters. ;)

I couldn't agree with you more, I definitely feal like I am going BONKERS! :uhoh3: I don't know how I will make it till October.:anbd: However, if I had your score I would'nt be too worried- you'll be just fine. As for me, im petrified at the thought of Not getting in, and then again at the thought of getting IN.

FruityPebble your IN, and you definitely deserve it.:yeah: Big props to you for not giving up and staying positive.:yelclap: Hopefully we will meet each other in the program, I got an 11.65 something and am extremelly nervous.:uhoh3:

Really you are nervous? Seriously your score is really good. I have a friend that got into montomery with an 11.3 something! Your score is good! I would just wait for my letter. BREATHE!!!

Thanks luvtosow, I appreciate the encouragment. It's just that the scores that ive seen for Cyfair, so far are extremelly good. I have a friend going into her second semester at Kingwood and she says it's not too bad except for the obvious; an extreme amount of reading. By theway you got an awesome score, I think it's safe to say your IN- great job!!! :clpty:

Im sorry. I understand how you feel. I took the Hesi back in Jan and only made an 83. I was beyond disappointed(luckily I took it the semester before I was applying). Stay positive. In the info session they said they were accepting more students this time so that should bring the score down a little.

Thanks so much, but truly on this site we are "hard core" lol you are seeing the top of the top and you are IN the top of the top! I promise your in with that score! Can't wait to say I told you so! Good to know Kingwood isn't too bad I have no idea what to expect. :)
