Lone Star Spring 2011

Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.

I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?

Did you know we can actually pull the syllabi from our first semester courses off the web? Kinda gives a hint as to what to expect. I was able to find all of cyfair's. Not sure about kingwood.

I like it, I like it alot !!! For now, im ganna try to stop obsessing over the whole situation. We'll see how long that lasts as my ocd tends to get the best of me.

I've put all my eggs in 1 basket for Kingwood and I'm hoping and praying to get a letter...the scores this application period are sooooo competetive and I'm nervous!!

I would love to hear some other stories of school besides the "dreadful, no-life because of studying, nazi-styled professors...yada yada."

To hear that, yes-it's school, but it can be and will be fun at the same time.

And can you believe it is just about 2 weeks away for the closing of the application period???! Maybe since it closes earlier this year the letters will go out earlier?! Anyway-good luck to everyone...I'm on pins and needles and I have decided not to try and retake the HESI. My luck I would miss 1 more than I did and I would kick myself.

Hi everyone!!! Getting closer!

My PE grade has been posted and I was planning on taking the HESI tomorrow (Sunday) but I'm pretty sure the business office is closed on Sunday's so I won't be able to pay for it. I am going to run up there in the morning just to see but I doubt it will be.

Now I am going to try to figure out how I can get in on Monday to take it. I am ready to get it over with and turn in my app. Nothing like waiting until the last minute.

Im sorry. I understand how you feel. I took the Hesi back in Jan and only made an 83. I was beyond disappointed(luckily I took it the semester before I was applying). Stay positive. In the info session they said they were accepting more students this time so that should bring the score down a little.

im going to apply anyways, just to see what happens...

and its ok..im over it now. if i dont get in, ill apply for the fall 2011..

i really underestimated the test. that was the first time i ever took the hesi...

ill just try harder next time..

and wow...i should have done what you did...take the hesi before i actually applied..just for the heck of it...just to see what it was like...

The time is here...finally. And now it's countdown time until Sept. 7. Then we will all be biting nails and pacing up and down the driveway as we stalk the mailman! I have already told my mailman that I will be expecting a letter (good or bad) and he is supposed to drive down my driveway and hand deliver it to me...we'll see if it happens, he's pretty good and handing me the good stuff...you know, gossip magazines and dreadful bills

Dang it, I told myself I was going to stay off this forum for a while because my anxiety level was creeping into my happy time!! Every time I got on here, another person scored 11.9s, 12.0 (kudos to you!), 11.7s...I am going to pull out my hair!! I kick myself because I didn't even take a look at a study guide for the HESI; I went in blind and not knowing what to expect. I wish I would have taken a peek at least, but it was my trial run before the regular application period opened. I figured it wouldn't be so bad to bomb it and get a feel for it, then go back and retake it.

Oh, these coulda, shoulda wouldas are picking at my pea brain Nothing to do now but twiddle my thumbs and hurry up and wait! This whole process should make my insomnia better...yeah right! Bring on the Ambien

Oh, I also wanted to check on all of you that took Pharm this summer...are ya'll finished and how was it? I am doing the hybrid at NH and I wanted to know if your prof is the same one I will be taking. The one I will have has the last name that starts with a "C" and her first name is the last part of a Marga-****. Sorry this is so dumb but I don't know if we can post names...kinda like a game of Win, Lose or Draw! Any info would be wonderful. I know ya'll were having some issues with the prof being out of the country or something?

Look um up on " rate my professor.com " this web site is awesome!!!! It trully helped me out along the way, as well as the one were on now.:lvan:Just type in the schools name under search and then look the professor up by last name, it should pull up. It always helps to do a little probing around, just to see what your getting into. Hope this helps and good luck!
