Lone Star Spring 2011

Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.

I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?

Thank you, yes I love that site but I don't seem to think many nursing students post reviews! I looked at the prof I am signed up for and she only has a couple new reviews...nothing that excites me too much.

I can't find any good dirt on any Kingwood profs!! I was hoping someone took her in the spring or just finished for summer to share some of the skinny on the class!!

I am going to need therapy until letters start coming out!! We need a support group for us frantic/eager applicants!!

Yes I have found the same thing about rate my professor although I do love it. I made a BIG mistake my first sememster with my A&P I instructor. I had no idea that the instructors would be teaching NOT even the same material!!! I mean they do have a standard but they are allowed to add all sorts of things to that standard. He taught the course like it was for grad students. Seriously it was crazy. I still got an A but nearly got a divorce in the process. But by god I know ALL the BONES and ALL the MUSCLES! LOL

well i did it. i finally took the hesi. i scored 100 on the math but only 91.3 on the reading. obviously you can tell which one i focused most of my studying on. i'm a little disappointed in my reading score but hoping it will still be good enough to get in. i'm more nervous than i thought i would be seeing all these high scores. now i wait....

I can't believe it is almost time!! I just faxed in my "hard copy" application. Since I'm out of state I wasn't able to hand deliver it and I'm very nervous that it didn't go through!! I tried to call to make sure but no one answered... :uhoh3:

I can't wait to get the letters! It should be end of October, right? Hopefully sooner!

Jennifer - I took pharm online this summer but I don't think I had the teacher you have. It was awful. I am pretty sure that I am going to retake it when I get into the program. Even though I made an A, I didn't learn a thing honestly. 14+ chapters a week was just WAY too much to go through to actually learn anything. I'm sure a longer semester will be better though.

They actually gave me a receipt when I handed mine in. I think I would call and ask them to mail me my receipt if I were you(there goes my ocd again).

As soon as our grade posts in MyRecords, we can apply? Or, is there something else that we have to wait on to apply? I need a class that I took this summer to make my 4 points so I don't want to apply without it? Just wondered when it became "official" and I could apply?

When it shows on your scoresheet it is official. You can check your scoresheet without submitting application. If it is showing in MYRECORDS, it should register on scoresheet.

When I turned my application into Kingwood, I didn't get a receipt. Were they supposed to give me one? I'm a little worried now. Anyone else that applied to Kingwood get a receipt? I just don't want anything to go wrong.:confused:

Nevermind I found it.

My HESI score is already showing up on my scoresheet. I'm not complaining but I thought it would take a few days for it to show up. Is that normal for it to be entered so quickly??

Looks like I will be turning in my application tomorrow!!!!
