Lone Star Spring 2020 ADN

From reading everyone that got into Lone Star nursing programs I hypothesized one very important point. Correct me if I'm wrong but if you get anything less than A's in English and A&P there is NO chance of admission.

The only instance I calculated a chance is a "B" in English, an "A" in A&P and a perfect 100% on the HESI. Other than that, A's in your classes with a minimum 88% on the exam is my observed formula for entrance.

I see why so many (myself included) get so worked up about the HESI. Anyone else taking the test next week at a Lone Star?

If anyone has taken A&P at a Lone Star over a summer session, how did you find attaining an A over the six-week period? Also, if anyone wants to part with a lab book...(?)

Haha that is for pedi (last semester) and you go only 2-3 times. The other clinical sites are either on 290, Katy, or memorial. Mental health is far as well but that’s only for 4 weeks I think.

North Harris lets you pick 3 of your preferred sites for clinical and then assigns you one of those choices...they don't always accommodate everyone but most of the time they do....It worked out good because I could be at clinical in 15 minutes..

What was your score ? It was your first choice location ?why did you pick it ?

North Harris is the same, you can have lecture and lab on same day (but not every student has this, it is assigned)...and one day for clinical.

I guess for me it’s a same driving distance as to woodlands ! How often do you go for the cliniclas ? Once a week ?

How do they pick people who can do that !? It drastically reduce the load ! I better sit for two extra hours that come extra day for the class lol

I have no clue....some students end up with lecture and lab together on one day but others have to come back an extra day just for lab....but no lab 3rd and 4th sems.

I'm at NH. I like it! It's been a good experience...They do seem more lenient but still stick to the rules bigtime. The instructors are good too. I'm happy I came here.
