Lone Star Spring 2020 ADN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

From reading everyone that got into Lone Star nursing programs I hypothesized one very important point. Correct me if I'm wrong but if you get anything less than A's in English and A&P there is NO chance of admission.

The only instance I calculated a chance is a "B" in English, an "A" in A&P and a perfect 100% on the HESI. Other than that, A's in your classes with a minimum 88% on the exam is my observed formula for entrance.

I see why so many (myself included) get so worked up about the HESI. Anyone else taking the test next week at a Lone Star?

If anyone has taken A&P at a Lone Star over a summer session, how did you find attaining an A over the six-week period? Also, if anyone wants to part with a lab book...(?)

good job boosting that score! thats awesome.

Thanks! And btw I think you're right about Friday. Seems like they have consistently done the emails on Fridays. I still have my denial email from last semester sent on a Friday at 9:12 AM on 6/7/19.

I'm trying to think of it as a good sign. Like I said last semester they would have emailed me if they knew there was a problem with getting my info sent to the nursing board but they probably just had the roster set and everyone below a certain score didn't need further checking. I'm praying this is why they noticed it this time. And if so you should be right there with me on getting in!

I absolutely view it as a good sign. Hopefully, we'll be starting this January.

I am in agreement with you. I had attended an info session and they did say that if something was wrong they would contact you to make the corrections by a certain date. So I’m pretty sure you’re file is good just need that update.

Hope you all can join the fb group.

Would be great to have faster and easier access and photos and success news and etc

Even if i werent to make it. I would love seeing you succeed and getting pointers from those who are ahead.

I mean, i hope i get in lol. But you never know

Nice! Well I'm thinking it'll be Friday we find out. Last semester while waiting for the email people randomly got emails from the company that conducts the fingerprints that you have to get done before the program begins and those came what felt like a couple days before the acceptance letters. The reason I'm guessing is because Lone Star sends a roster to the Texas Board of Nursing (which in the email I got said the deadline was August 20th 2pm), then from there I think the fingerprint emails automatically get sent then a couple days later Lone Star usually sends the acceptance/denial letters. That's what it feels like is gunna happen this week.

Now I feel like I won’t fall asleep tonight. I’m getting excited. It’s like it’s finally here I can almost taste it. My phone does not leave my side since I finished my last summer assignment this morning.

hahahah i totally understand. my phone is on me at all times now. i even forwarded all of my emails to my personal and set alerts for priority. i feel like i am dying a slow painful death waiting for this email. i am working on my final for my summer classes and still look at my phone every couple of minutes. like i posted earlier though, i hear we will get the email on friday so i am trying to stay calm until then.

I got the acceptance letter for my backup plan: the LVN program at Tomball. Im going to wait on that RN accept/reject/alternate letter before I respond.
