I applied to Lone Star - ADN program Spring 2012. I was accepted as an alternate. I am hoping to get a call from the nursing department saying there is a spot for me. If not I will be reapplying for the next application period for entrance to the program in the Fall 2012. Good luck everyone!!!!
Good evening all, I know I have posted before about looking for shoes and I'm just posting again to see if anyone has found any good ones. I have found some nice uniforms and a good price on a stethoscope but I am still looking for all white really comfortable shoes around the $75 or less price range. I have heard that shape ups are very comfortable has anyone tried them?

The director at Tomball said no wedges because some facilities did not allow them..not sure if shape-ups would be considered a "wedge" or not. I would certainly ask first! I decided to get SAS shoes (yeah, I know) because I know they're appropriate and really comfortable. nursemates.com has options in that price range.
Good luck and post what you decide to get!
If I were you I would try to reschedule the vacation. You can only miss so many days of lab, lecture, and clinical. It depends on what your missing, but I would try to reschedule it if I were you. We went this past spring break and I needed a mini-vacation afterwards. Oct and Nov are going to be the craziest time in the entire program from what I heard. Hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks gmarks! I wish I knew how many classes we can miss. I would just reschedule it but we ot a deal that is only available this fall. I was thinking I could fly out to meet them after clinicals on Wed and fly back Monday night or early Tuesday so
I'd only miss lecture on Monday. Idk, maybe I can scrape up the extra money to pay the difference in price going this summer.
And you're right, Disney World is exhausting! You don't exactly come back rested!
Well if you do decide to do that, just make sure that the monday that you miss isn't a test day. I know u can find an awesome person to record lecture for monday and give you the notes. lol I can message you with alot of stuff that I learned from our trip to help you get the most from your trip :)

Thank you! My friend is a transition student and her first class is Thursday and she is baffled as to why she has not had a reading assignment yet. /:
