I applied to Lone Star - ADN program Spring 2012. I was accepted as an alternate. I am hoping to get a call from the nursing department saying there is a spot for me. If not I will be reapplying for the next application period for entrance to the program in the Fall 2012. Good luck everyone!!!!
I am seriously considering the UHV RN-BSN. UHV requires 120 sem. credit hours in order for a bachelor degree to be awarded. They give credit for 30 sem. credit hours for the ADN program, plus their program is 31 sem. credit hours. From the list of required classes that I received in an email from an advisor at UHV, looks like in the long run I will have several sem. credit hours over the required 120!!!
Ah I love Chemistry! So fun! Like a giant puzzle :)
An adviser at the University Center sent me a copy of the articulation agreement and it says we're automatically accepted if we have 2.0gpa and a 2.5 science gpa and our license. Can we even have less than a 2.0 in the program without getting kicked out? I'm thinking not.
So as long as we pass the NCLEX we should all automatically be accepted to start Jan 2013 if we want? That's what I'm hoping if I don't get early acceptance to UT.
@stephalump. Get accepted where in jan. 2013? I applied for a part-time position at UTHSC. I am hoping to land a part-time job sometime soon. I have been out of work for over two years and my 401k from my previous employer is disappearing. I can make it the next two years, but I would feel better if I could land a job so I can help my son with his college expenses.

UHV for the BSN program!
Good luck with the job! Here's hoping it works out for ya:) I have a friend in management at Texas Childrens who said she would hook me up with an interview, but I'm really nervous about the course load, taking care of my family, AND working. I think I'm going to wait until after the first semester to job hunt....not sure.
The job I applied for is at Harris County Psych Center. They require that you have a min. of 60 sem. Credit hours with a focus in psyc, sociology, or health science. I have a friend who graduated with a bachelor degree in psychology from Baylor and is now working on her master at HBU. She has worked at UTHSC Harris County Psych Center for a few years now and loves it. I am excited there was a position open because I want to work in mental health.

Oh awesome! Was it the psych tech job? I applied for one there last month but never heard anything...I was hoping having a degree in psych would help, but oh well. Hopefully you have better luck! You should def try to have her put a word in for you there if you have the chance...seems to be all about who you know, not what you know nowadays.
Yes it was for psych tech. Did you attach a resume? I did because before our office closed the company hired another company to prep everyone new resumes. They are still following up with me even though it has been two years. They have updated my resume twice related to educational achievements.Oh awesome! Was it the psych tech job?
