I applied to Lone Star - ADN program Spring 2012. I was accepted as an alternate. I am hoping to get a call from the nursing department saying there is a spot for me. If not I will be reapplying for the next application period for entrance to the program in the Fall 2012. Good luck everyone!!!!

@blondie
I know that in the past, at the Tomball campus, you begin in the summer if you cannot exempt out with a CNA or PCT. If you have either you need to see the director and fill out forms to be exempt. The Nursing Student Handbook states something to the extent that we could have assignments outside the scheduled semester. I think that there is a possibility that we could be assigned to give immunizations at some local back to school function for the children in the Tomball area. I have heard that past nursing students have done that!?! I do not know if it was mandatory or if they volunteered.
Kalisefer: You should email the lady and double check!! Thats only required if your not on the RN_ BSN program.

There is a link on that link that opens the transfer guide. Chem is listed on the transfer guide. I see what you see, but why does the transfer guide have Chem listed? Every RN-BSN program i have looked at requires 4 credit hours of Chem!?!

In looking at it again, the list of classes you are seeing are pre-reqs you have to have complete before you can apply. Click on the link that opens the RN-BSN transfer guide, you will see the courses listed that have to be complete in order to complete the RN-BSN degree requirements.
I understand what your saying, but heres the email I recieved from the lady that helps with the transition: I"m just trying to help you save some classes for finanical aid purposes :)
No, Chemistry is no longer required – Dr. Neill removed this from the program requirements. The requirements for the program are attached above in the Program Reqs attachment for all students entering the program of RN to BSN in the Woodlands
@gmarks,
I emailed someone at UHV. You are correct, you do not need chem! Thanks for the information gmarks.
@stephalump,
you have take PHIL 1301 intro to phil to opt out of sophomore literature not a sophomore PHIL course such as ethics or logic for the RN-BSN at UHV.
NOTE: As of sometime recent, they no longer require college algebra, but you have to complete a statistics course, either PSYC 2317 or MATH 1342. The only stats course you can take without college algebra is PSYC 2317.
