2017 Lone Star ADN Hopefuls

Published

Hi there!!!! So I have been reading the "Hopefuls" forums from previous years and decided that it is time to start our own. I believe that this is a great way to support each other and compare our HESI scores. So here we come, all of the Lone Star students who are planning on applying for the ADN program please share your scores. I am applying to Kingwood for the spring semester 2017. My HESI score is 7.45 and I am a little bit worried that this could be not enough. :sorry:

Hello everyone!

It's my first time posting and I have a few questions. How long is the program for basic track if you have completed all the

classes except the nursing ones. Since I'm applying to other schools like TWU,UTH,UTMB I've pretty much completed a lot of classes.

2nd, I already emailed the ADN department (they havent answered back) but I took my HESI for UTH & was wondering if i could use those scores & where do i send them. Made an overall 90.4%/ 84% in the science portion/910 critical thinking. 3rd, I have found out that the other schools are very competitive even if you have good scores your chances are low so for the ADN cyfair how competitive is it from previous cycles if anyone knows. Thank you all!

Did you use the UTH department code?? I did and it didn't offer me the critical thinking portion. @wickedstar21

@varango02 well for the spring 2017 cycle you still had to take the critical thinking portion but not anymore. Which for me is totally ridiculous b/c now my chances are even slimmer. I have heard that they send the hesi scores to the board first and the highest ones make it to the second round of decision which is looking at the GPA. My overall is like 3.1 but my sciences 3.8 & prereqs 3.7 GPA:wtf: Hate the entire process!

Oh! I applied for the summer cycle! My Hesi was a 90% but my GPA is a 3.0 prereqs and science. Hopefully I get in!

I applied to the UTMB

I applied to the UTMB

me too....Good luck!

@wickedstar21 so sorry! I meant I applied to the UT health in houston! I did not apply to UTMB because I did not take the TEAS

I would think it will be the same time fame with fewer stress ( classes). You should attend an information session (8th of Feb at Cyfair) and ask any questions you may have in person. Usually kingwood is really good at replying to emails, did you try them?

Is it okay to take A&P online ?

You could and take the lab on campus

Can anyone tell me if pharmoclogy is required when applying to lonestar??

Is it okay to take A&P online ?

I take it online you just go like 5 times to the lab the entire semester
