If you go in there, and no one is there, just wait. Every five or ten minutes, check back and see if anyone is there. Chances are there will be, and you can say hello. They might be doing what you do, and check back in five minutes and say hi back, and eventually you start talking in real time, and then someone else joins etc etc.
