Hello! This might sound silly but is there a separate application that needs to be completed for the Professional phase of the nursing program at LIU? When is the best time to take the TEAS V exam?

Your application to the program is the same as the professional phase but you can't join unless you pass the teas and have your prerequisite classes done

Hey ambitiousjnyc, (or anyone else who may have the answer to my question), for the part time part program, was it the evening and weekend program. If so, do you know how the hours look like per day. I have been searching online and trying to reach someone at the program, but have not been successful in finding an answer.

Hi Plums,

The part-time is a combination of both evenings and weekends, starting around 5 pm on the weekdays, weekends earlier. Its geared towards people work in the day or have other priorities that they have to tend to.

Hey, Nathalie-123!

I know I'm a little late on the reply, but I am more than happy to provide some insight for you. Im currently enrolled in the program, 2nd semester in, and I can surely let you know that it is fairly easy to get in (all you need is some pre reqs and a passing TEAS score), but maintaining your student status in the program is indeed difficult!

Funny, i remember our first orientation, we filled the auditorium! Not a single seat available between two people, and second semester's orientation (there's one beginning every semester) the 2nd AND 3rd level students were placed inside of the same auditorium and STILL half of the room was empty! So imagine that! Within three months so many people failed or were expelled due for whatever reason.

Having lost a few friends from the program itself, I can say the majority of students had difficulty with NUR 192 or geriatrics, i'm sure they didnt change the code. STUDY the old fashioned way for it, its a lot of info, and if you are doing well, fantastic! But the exams get harder as the semester prolongs, so don't get cocky or worse, lazy. I'm speaking from experience.

Also, in accordance with the administration, you'll often hear students expressing how disorganized LIU is with paperwork and financial aid, and BELIEVE IT! Best way around it is to be on top of your game, be one step ahead of them. constantly check on your status to make sure everything is run alright, particialry with financial aid. Good luck!

Nice to meet you all! I'll be joining the the LIU ABSN summer 2018 cohort but does anyone know when class officially starts? They have already given me two different start dates which is concerning and makes me think their reputation of being disorganized may be the truth.

Hello: I am happy to see your post because I was starting to think I was alone out there. My Application portal says accepted since February but I am a little lost because I have not gotten anything formal in the mail. Did you get any paperwork in the mail or by email as yet?
