LIU Brooklyn Spring 2018

Published

Hello did not see a thread for LIU brooklyn winter/spring 2018. Has anyone applied yet? if so what was your experience? Anyone have been accepted already?

Hi everyone! I was recently admitted for Fall 2018 for LIU, I'm just confused about when I need to take the Teas? and when I need to submit my scores? I'll have all my pre reqs done at the end of the spring semester.

Hello. Congrats on getting accepted ! When did you apply ? I'm still waiting on my admissions decision, I'm so nervous.

I don't think the TEAS are required anymore ? When did you hear back about fall 2018?

Hi,

Does anyone know the total cost of the program? I read somewhere that it is 60,000 and on another forum I read it is 35, 000 so I am confused. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Did anyone apply for summer accelerated and get accepted for fall 2018

Hey,

No I applied for summer and got accepted for summer. Maybe you can talk to admission and have them move your application to the summer instead of the fall since your already accepted.

It cost me roughly 34,000 and that how much i will be paying for 2018-2019 and what I paid for 2017-2018

Can someone please PM me about the admission process to LIU, I'm currently a nursing student at City Tech which is closeby. Sadly, I'm looking into transferring to LIU nursing program. City Tech idk if you guys know has a bad rep, people fail like dead flies and the program is really aimed for you to fail. So if any brothers or sisters in here please message me about like what classes I need to complete to start clinicals asap or any insight into the program such as Kaplan, Hesi, ATI so I know what to prepare for since I already have experience with nursing school! Thanks in advance.

I would private messages you but the feature is disable. The school uses ATI is worth 6-10% of your grade. You have to read the assigned textbook and ATI to do well in classes. Majority of the exams come straight from the textbook. For clinical's we use castle branch, you need to complete their HIPAA, get Titers, a physical, background check and drug screen. The bundle for the drug screen and background is $150. They changed the curriculum from when I started, but students now don't start clinical's till their 2nd semester into nursing. You will be taking informatics, patho, health assessment and pharm/ med admin, each comes with a lab ( except for informatics) your first semester. Then start clinical's in your second semester.

I'm actually not sure if they take nursing school transfer credits, probably not, call advisement. You honestly will be starting all over. You need a 78-80% to pass each class, 2 fails and your out. I think the GPA requirement was increase to 3.0 ( not too sure).

Hopefully this helps! Good luck

Has anyone made it into the program with a C+ in chemistry?

You would need to speak to an advisor. They changed their requirements for the incoming class. I don’t see why it wouldn’t transfer.

Okay thank you. I will probably be meeting with an advisor this Friday. I just do not want to repeat Chemistry again. All my other prerequisite courses are A, B+ or B. I just don't think I will be bringing in a B for chemistry.
