THis is my 4th semester of pre-reqs and I begin the Nursing program in the Fall.
Besides holding down a job, having a husband, three teenagers, friends, other family members etc, every semester I have had some sort of life stressor hit me.
Semester 1 My grammie died
Semester 2 My brother was arrested and tried for a crime
Semester 3 My brother was convicted
Now, Semester 4 My brother is in jail---
I honestly haven't thought it could get any worse...
Last night my girlfriend called me asking if her 17 year old son (who has mild CP) came home with my 15 and 17 year old boys, I told her no, and called the boys from their bedroom and the family room and asked them when they'd last seen Harrison and they said after Math Club. I told Lisa not to worry, maybe Harrison had ran into a pal and he's just lost track of time.
I woke up this morning and called Lisa at 6:30am to check on Harrison, but honestly, mostly, to find out his excuse for not being home when he was supposed to...
And I found out from Lisa that Harrison jumped off our 100 feet bridge. She of course is absolutely devestated..because I've known Harrison and babysat him for so many years since he was 5, I feel like a piece of my heart has been taken, and I am just beside myself, but being strong for Lisa and my boys, who of course are also devestated and in shock.
I am so stressed.
I am sure I'm not the only person having life stressors like this as I'm making my journey through this process of being a RN, and I'm just afraid that these stressors are going to become so heavy that I'm not going to be able to continue....
Please take a moment to say a prayer for Harrison and his family...and I would love to hear how you have handled life stressors and continued your journey..
Thank you.

Jenny - please think of getting some counseling to deal with these truly awful losses. I'm so sorry for you.

Jenny, trauma is right. You have so much happening right now; counseling is an excellent idea. Please consider it, and post when you can how you're doing. Praying for you and your friends.

Wow Jenny! Hang in there! I'll say some prayers for Harrison's family and for you as well. No one should have to go through all that alone. I realize you have your hubby and your daughters, but talking to a neutral third party may help you sort out all the emotions that you're going through. Please keep in touch! :)

I am sorry to hear this....the teen years are so tough on everyone....this is every parents' worst nightmare come true...
Do take care of yourself....do your best to get through this semester and honestly, if you need to take some time off, do so....truly your physical and mental health is the most important thing right now....NS will always be there....
Hey Everyone! Thank you for the kind words. As you all know, as the days go by it gets alittle 'easier'...I've been balancing my school/work/family and as much time as I can give to my bestfriend. I visited my PCP and had a really nice talk with her and I feel it really helped and took a lot of this off my shoulders.
Thank you for 'listening' and for taking the time to offer me some strength through your words.
