Lichson 2011 applicants

hi all !!

i wanted to start a thread for applicants for 2011 lichson, ill like to hear your process and just be there for all and go through the wait together. :clown: i know that hard parts are over with just the gruesome part is here WAITING! hope there some ppl out there going through the same thing as i

i am confused. So are all the applicants that would of been accepted to the fall 2011 class would get transfered to spring 2012 or are we suppose to re-apply and start the whole process from scratch? It would only be fair that LICH transfer all aplicants to spring 2012 class instead of making everybody reapply from the beginning

I think you guys are misunderstanding what is going on. The school is closing. Meaning St. Francis' LICHSON is no longer running. All of us that applied for fall 2011 are not going to start the LICHSON because there would not be any nursingschool. Most likely the Nursing Program will be removed from the building and the students that are currently in the program will be transfered to another school. Thats how I think it is going down. Because they said the school is closing, not moving to another site.

Omg!!!! I want my money back the least they can do ..... I hate the run around n I moved on to maybe a second option I felt like if this IS how they treat new applicants how will they treat there student, I gave up on lich a while ago that outrageous how they are going bout things, I.wish u guys best of luck and those who had lich as an only choice as I look into school that accept for spring so u won't be a year behind!

Wow... I am in complete shock.. will contact my friend - lawyer, to find out if it is possible, on legal grounds, in the midst of application process, drop us like a waste matter,

why did they start the application process if they knew(!!!)i am sure they did about merge all along!

because "deals like this" don't get settled over night).. I understand that Downstate - don't need us.... we are not official students yet... current students will be taken car of..

Lichson doesn't exist anymore - Downstate has nothing to do with us...who do we call responsible?

I guess the official written response will explain something.

p.s. I feel like I am back in Russia:(...unfairly treated and disposed

hi all,

i just called LICH admissions and I was told to stop listening to ugly rumors. The school is not closing, at least yet, and the fall 2011 class is still on. She told me that a million people call her today about the same question and she keeps telling everyone that the rumor is not completly true. THE CLASS IS STILL ON. However, she did mention that everything is in the air because the merge HAPPENED last week and they are still working all the bugs out with clinicals and so on and so on. So nothing is certain but admission will send out letters of acceptance or rejection as soon as they work out all the details from the merge. So MERGE HAPPENED. So now i am confused. There are people here who said that they went to school and they found out that it is true that there will be no fall 2011 class but when i called they told me everything is ok as of right now and class will start as scheduled. I dont know who to believe now. Someone either got the information wrong or i am not being told the truth from admissions. But during my 2 interviews that I had. Both mentioned nothing of class cancelled and did talk about the merge that will make the school better. the only downside to merge is a longer wait to hear a responce because they have to deal with all the details of course.

So are people receiving phone calls from LICHSON stating there will be no FALL 2011 class and if so question whoever is answering the phone (Ms. __________ phoned me stating there will be no Fall classes, etc) Does anyone in the building know what is going on?????? How crazy and frustrating -- this is our careers they are holding up!

Simply put: When will the official notice from Downstate come with what the plan for the nursing program will be ?????

two meeting in the hospital are today, one was in the morning, and the other is this afternoon, so this afternoon's meeting, the nursing staff will know what exactly Downstate is doing about the program.

Calling and talking to someone in person is too different things.. People can tell you anything over the phone.

no offense CeceStar5 but so can people in person. An individual can look at you straight in your eyes and lie their teeth of. And yes I know a lot of people think they are walking human lie detectors but in reality they are not. Unless you are a REAL CERTIFIED POLYGRAPH examiner you cant tell if the people are telling the truth. Of course there are exceptions to every case, sometimes you can tell the person is full of it but it doesnt happen that often. So over the phone or in person it is the same thing. Sorry

I strongly believe the program will commence as scheduled. It helps to look at it at a certain angle. A nursing program in LICH does cost a lot of money and considering that there are at least 100 people in the program every 6 month multiply by 15,000 or so for the program and you get a lot of money which I am pretty sure neither LICH or Downstate want to loose. After all, it is business and business needs money. So i dont think LICH will pass up on $150,000 every 6 month. Would u??????

Odessaboy. Nothing is taken offensive on my side. This is what the forum is for, to share information. We are just having difference in opinions. I totally agree with what your saying, that someone could lie right in your face, but I have confirmation to what I believe. My boss who is in charge of the whole hospital, and is deeply involved in the merger, has told me the same thing as what the person told me in the nursing school. The fate of the school is slim and that in two weeks everything will be finalized.(whether the nursing program is going to continue etc. From what I learned about the staff at the school there is always miscommunication and confusion amongst themselves. So I think its best that we all wait and see what happens in the next two weeks.
