i wanted to start a thread for applicants for 2011 lichson, ill like to hear your process and just be there for all and go through the wait together. :clown: i know that hard parts are over with just the gruesome part is here WAITING! hope there some ppl out there going through the same thing as i

hi all,

got some good news for all the individuals who had interviews. First of all, i was told that all people who had their interviews will know results by second week of june and i also called financial aid office who had told me that i should be hearing something really really soon. So, for those who had their interviews done just hang in their for another week or two and you will either get a phone call or a letter in the mail with their decision. Hoping it will be all acceptance letters. For the rest of the people that are still waiting keep your head up and pray. I am sure your time will come and we will all sit in the same class in mid august.

Applicants please be sure to keep us up to date on acceptances/rejects, etc. It is the second week of June - the process should begin this week -- that is what we were told!!!!

I dont know how to even begin saying this but i called LICHSON yesterday and was informed that because of the merger that went through to Downstate they will NOT be accepting anyone for the freshman class of 2011... when i was told this by ******** i was completely devastated. i started to cry on the phone and ask how could something like this happen and was told that their were many legal issues tied to the merger and that because of it they wont accept any of the new applicants. I then proceeded to tell her about all of you guys that are o this forum and how some of you even got to the point of getting interviewed. and she said that they apparently found out last weekend that this was going to take place. she also told me that their is a letter going out from downstate that states that they will not be accepting anyone for the fall. Believe me i wish this was a joke i hope ad pray that this will change i think that we all have to. She said that it will most likely not chage... but the question now remains . can they do this to us? will they refund our application fee ? our paper work???? what is going to happen here??? we all have to relax and keep hope where their is a will their is a way.. i firmly believe in that. Please if you do not believe me call the school 718-780-1998. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO IF I THOUGHT I WAS WORRIED BEFORE, THAT WAS NOTHING. we have to keep each other posted. STAY STRONG GUYS!!!!!

Fara01, what is that mean? You paid your application fee and submitted documents till the deadline, now they do not accept any new students? They will not have any freshmen groups this fall or what , or they already have formed groups and to not want to look at new candidates, or No RN program this fall in general because of downstate and legal issues? Thanks.

I called LICH and they said no such thing? I called the admission office @718780107. Unless I get a letter from them saying otherwise I still have hope.I've already been interviewed and just awaiting the final outcome.

WHATTTTTTTTTTT?????????? this BETTER NOT be the case.....and if it is they will definitely be hearing from me....the number i call when i talk to them is 780 1071....what are these other phone numbers to?

Thanks Fara for the info this is disappointing. Im at work today and i will be stopping in the nursing department on clarification on this. Its funny that i was told that the merger has nothing to do with them during my interview and now im hearing this bull. They have failed to realize how much money and time was put into applying. I will update everyone on what they tell me

i just called the school and now their saying that their isn't anything set in stone, i dot know what is going on!!!! im just here praying. obviously something is going

i just called them earlier and when i told them what i had heard, she asked where i heard this from and put me on hold. She came back and stated that the transition is taking longer than expected for them merging with downstate...so i replied by saying " so this means there will be a fall 2011 class?" and her response was "i didnt say that"....she also said we will be receiving letters soon....so now im really starting to get worried. i cannot believe that they can let us waste our time like this and mess up our lives. lichson was the only school i applied to, i never thought something like this would ever happen. if this is the case, that they are not accepting anyone, i will be yet another year behind. they need to let us know what is going on asap and stop with the runaround, they are not making a very good name for themselves right now.

idn what is going on, i told you guys what i know, i told you guys exactly what i was told, and the number i gave was the one to **** office, their are tow other numbers that i know of and one is to the front desk and the other is to mrs. ****. apparetly even the people at lich are in limbo.
