Does anyone work at Lenox Hill? I recently passed my nclex, and applied there, was wondering what the waiting process would be like?

Congrats on passing your NCLEX. Unfortunately, my experience applying to Lenox Hill was poor - I graduated from a Big Name Ivy League nursing school with my senior practicum done in the specialty area I was applying for and didn't even get a response. It was fine because I got the job at the hospital where I really wanted to work, but it would have been nice to hear SOMEthing.
Elizabells:If I'm correct, you work at Presbyterian?
Yes ma'am. On the Children's side. Probably best to PM me if you want more specific info; I sometimes say too much on the open board.

Lenox hill hospital is very picky, I did some of my clinicals there years ago and did not like it. As elizabells said, many of my friends applied there and never got a respond. When some of them tried to contact the recruiter, they were asked not to call again and that the hospital will contact them if they were needed.
If I were you, I will look elsewhere.
Good luck and congrats on becoming a nurse.

Yes, Elizabells, I had a similar experience there...they don't treat brand new nurses nicely---which is why they are always desperately advertising for experienced nurses--because we (formerly) brand new nurses now have a year or two under our belts and remember Lenox Hill's shabby treatment....specifically, in my case, I had an appointment in the Recruiting Office and was sent to a floor for an interview by the Recruiting Office assistant (who was a very nice per diem RN), but the nurse who heads the Recruiting Office didn't "have time" to speak with me and didn't bother to even say "hi" when she saw me in the waiting area as she bustled about....Strange place--leaves a bad taste in my mouth...As an aside: After my interview on the floor, I asked for the interviewer's business card---the interviewer gave me the Lenox Hill card and sheepishly stated that the last name had been misspelled!!--can you imagine??--using a business card with an error in your name??? I think it's bettrer off we went elsewhere....
I did my advanced med-surg clinical rotation at LHH. We went to a different specialty unit every week. I had a great experience. The nurses were all very friendly, and informative. I was actually shocked b/c as a student I've never seen so many happy nurses in one hospital. They all loved what they did, and were happy to help. That experience is what made me want to work there. I'm sorry so many of you had a negative experience. I'll keep you guys posted if they call me.
Oh, I forgot to state the worst part: I never heard ANYTHING from them...so unprofessional--kind of like giving out a business card with a misspelling of your name...LOL.

I did my senior practicum there and honestly, both of my preceptors said to NOT apply there until I gain some experience. Their new grad training program is all of 2 weeks. And believe me, your nurse to patient ratio isn't low. In the step down unit it is still at 5 patients. I liked doing my internship there, but I didn't apply there. I would highly recommend a new grad program that is anywhere from 10-12 weeks and if you cannot, 8 weeks at the very least!
Good luck:)
