Lehman College FNP Program - Fall 2023

Updated:   Published

Hey All ,

I wanted to start a topic to see if anyone got into Lehman College this year (2023) for the FNP program and if they are considering going. Also have you heard any pros/cons about the school? If anyone is currently enrolled now any feedback and/or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Oh I didn't get the option to enroll for Summer. I wish I did so I can start earlier. Im taking the post masters so I start with NUR 766 and NUR 773. I hope they offer Summer classes either this Summer or  next Summer too. I just don't get much of a response from the programs advisor after I got the decision.

Hi did anyone hear back from Lehman yet regarding class registration? I got an email about zoom orientation for June 6 but waiting on invite or more info. And info on registering for classes.

Hi everyone,

I tried registering for classes through CUNYfirst as @pickychic4eva mentioned but was denied bc I need advisor approval. When I contacted the administrators they said the advisement schedule will go out in May/June. Also received the email about the Zoom orientation, looking forward to that as I am hoping it will answer some questions.

I haven't heard anything about registration either. I contacted multiple people and don't have permission still. And I didn't get any Zoom email about orientation. I'm hoping things become swift and organized and better communicated. If one of you can email me/message me the zoom link that would be wonderful. I don't want to miss anything. ?

I emailed (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) and she was the one who sent me info on orientation but no zoom link yet or anything after that. I did the chat bot and they told me to email nursing department. So I am waiting to hear back from them. There's really some lack of communication in the school. And you also cannot contact them through  phone. I hope it gets better too. I gets this is what we get for inexpensive tuition costs ?

Hey Everyone!

I created a facebook group called "Lehman Fall FNP 2023". If you guys have a facebook let's move this conversation over there! I don't want things to get too personal or us get flagged for anything!

There are two approved ways to create a special place for your cohort.

One: create a facebook page. This link may be posted.

Two: Premium members may create a "club" by clicking on the Breakroom link in the yellow bar to the left of this page. Then click on "Create A New Club" in the green bar at the top of the page, and follow instructions.

References to other than these two avenues will be moved from view, to comply with the Terms of Service.

    Thank you.

Hi @thecareerchanger we start classes next week so I can't give you a full review yet. All I can say is that when it comes to getting things communicated to you, knowing about things etc. They are lacking in that. You really have to be on top of things and reach out to the proper people to get information and questions answered.

Thanks @pickychic4eva! I feel like that's a CUNY/SUNY thing for some reason (I did undergrad at Brooklyn College "back in the day" and then ABSN at Downstate). I was also looking at MSN in Education at various SUNY/CUNY as that would be an interest for me as well but FNP may be more flexible as I can go into clinical instruction/staff development, NP or both with FNP but can't do same with MSN in education without post-master's. I would definitely like to follow up regarding the FNP at Lehman since it may be best option for me right now. Thanks again

Hi, im interested in applying to a FNP program at lehman or hunter (bc or price). How is the program so far? my biggest fear is failing out. defintely don't want that to be an option!!

@Kjd321 sorry for the late reply! So far it's not too bad. It really depends on what kind of student you are and how you balance your work and personal life. So far I'm having no issues and I made a great group of classmates that we stick together to survive this process. Classes are always on Tuesdays and the days can be long, so just prepare yourself for that. But I haven't taken the hard classes yet like patho or pharm. Those are the ones I'm worried about the most.
