I'm watch MSNBC too although I switch between this channel and CNN. I did not hear restrictions past April 29th, but that date seems premature at this point....ugh this is all so disheartening. Hopefully New York can continue to ebb the rate of new cases. Stay well!

I hope too. As I told, I have been waiting for so long. Let's see what happens

Does anyone know what we do for course registration this semester? Should we register for courses in a backup major ? Also, will this affect the departments decision when it comes to sending acceptances? Any suggestions will truly help ?

Hi, FutureRN2022_ a! My friend and I just got off of a zoom call with Donna the Pre-Nursing advisor and she told us that they may not start the acceptance process until June because many people scheduled to take the HESI during Quarantine and given the situation, they have to reschedule and prolong their application process. So they want to give those people extra time to take their exams. For course registration, we don't choose our own courses in the program, it is done automatically once accepted. In regards to sending acceptances, we most likely won't hear if we got in until mid-June to end of July ? There's also a likely hood that we will have orientation online as well. She also said that some of our classes are in-person and online since they don't know if we will be back in school full-time for fall yet. I just don't get why this information hasn't been put in an email and blasted out to us. Let's keep our fingers and toes crossed.

Thank you so much for sharing this. How were you able to get a Zoom meeting with her? I am waiting to hear something anything official. The only answer I got from my professor is to watch the website.
Thank you for this information, I would’ve never known. Has anyone been able to get permission for HIN 269? The website says to email the department but I haven’t gotten a response and it’s been about 2 weeks already. I have emailed them twice. Also, what about registration? Should I register for a backup major just in case and if so, might this affect the nursing departments decision?

You're welcome. Yeah me neither. Yeah, Donna addressed that as well and said that they haven't been giving people permission for 269 and 268, but she never said why, which I think is odd. You'll most likely get a response soon enough though. As far as your back up, in my opinion, I would only suggest finding another major if you don't feel confident in getting in. Just because things are delayed, doesn't mean that they won't happen, so don't let this panic you. However, if you definitely need a backup, you can still declare your major for nursing and then also declare a minor. Because if for whatever reason you don't get in the program, you can work on your minor while you start the application process again for this school or another. I think a backup major is unnecessary unless you feel it is in your best interest to have one and it probably would affect the decision of your application.

I feel somewhat confident but the anxiety is getting to me. I’ll consider your suggestion because I don’t want to take any chances.

I'm not sure since my friend was the one that scheduled it, but I believe an email was sent on how to set up a zoom meeting. Yeah same, the lack of information on something so important is unprofessional on their part because many people are confused.

Yeah same here, but everything will be cleared up soon I bet. Yeah I would suggest making a zoom meeting with your pre-nursing advisor, if you still feel conflicted.

Let's have a hope!
I also did not get HIN269 permission (already been 2 weeks)
I guess the dept may give the permissions to the nursing students first and then they may give us.
the unusual things, so many seats for NUR 300 and NUR 301for Fall semester.
the seats 165 seats. Is it normal? I thought it should be about 100seats.
NUR 300 is for the first class after accepted for the nursing.
very curious and hope they recruit more nursing students since there are lack of nurses . Cross my finger and stay safe.

Hi Kil Park,
Can you tell me who says they will be closing for the Fall semester? ?
