Legacy Health Residency, Portland, OR

Published

Just wondering if anyone else had applied to Legacy Health (Emmanuel Children's Hospital)? This is in Portland, OR. It closed last Friday and I am wanting to know when people start hearing from them about interviews. Thanks for any info you have!!

Finally got my call this morning! Since I'm out of town, she told me someone will call me within the next two weeks to schedule my phone interview. YAY! I was really starting to lose hope.

I still haven't heard anything either, so I'm really hoping I hear something today. I have an ADN and know I met minimum qualifications and sent everything in. However I do live in AZ, so I wonder if that might be working against me. We'll see! Congrats to those of you who have scheduled interviews so far! Keep us posted :)

Wow, you're in AZ and you're looking here? We were told in school that AZ and TX were hiring new grads. Is this untrue?

Totally untrue! Don't come here if you're looking for new grad jobs, haha. I've applied to close to 100 jobs here in the Phoenix area at different hospitals, different units, surgical centers, home health, etc. The few people from my class who are working are working in clinics, correctional facilities, out of state, or group homes. There are on or two grads in the hospital setting but they had strong connections during school. I'm actually having more luck with Oregon currently than I've had with any job in AZ in the last 4 months, since I at least have a first interview for a new grad program which is more than I've had from any AZ job. I'm not necessarily applying in OR because the job situation is any better, but because it does give me more options and I have family there so I would love to the area.

We were told that 300 people interviewed today. Are any of you guys scheduled for Thursday?

Everybody was interviewed today, no interviews on thursday. I heard only 16-20 positions. Did anybody hear anything different?

We were told that they wouldn't know how many positions until the second round of interviews because last time the number changed due to creating positions for desirable applicants. 500 applicants to 61 positions last time... 300 applicants to 20 positions this time... Yeesh!

My interview was in the afternoon. I wonder why they told you something different... Were you early AM?

I wonder how many phone interviews they have to do...

I wonder if you had a different person in the auditorium before the interview. Because I was told the same thing. No interviews on Thursday, 300+ applicants and 16-20 positions.

How did everyone's interviews go yesterday? They haven't called me back to schedule my phone interview yet, hopefully soon though!

*Crossingfingers10 they called me yesterday for the phone interview, which is tomorrow!

Can anyone offer advice? What kinds of questions do they ask? I'm assuming somewhat basic interview questions since it is a short pre-screen interview?

They called and left me a message this afternoon! Unfortunately I was volunteering at the hospital and couldn't answer, but I called back and left a message. Hopefully she'll call back tomorrow morning so I can schedule it asap :) Good luck! Let us know how it goes and if they give you any info!
