Lee Memorial Internship 2014

Published

Hello everyone! I know there was a topic about this but I thought I'd refresh it for this year. So how many have you applied to the Lee Memorial intern program for Feb 2014? Does anyone have any advice?

Onboarding is basically your orientation to the system. Its a 1-2 weeks process where they get all your paperwork and system training together. You will be in a classroom like atmosphere for that time where different speakers will go over the policies and procedures, benefits, history of the system, and any computer training needed. Plan for 8 hours a day of lectures and presentations with breakfast, lunch and breaks in between. I know it sounds intimidating but its really not as bad as it sounds. I Hope that helps. I have been working for the system since July 2013 at Lee and I love it! Congrats!!!!

Thanks NurseKitty2013! I figured it was going to be a lot of listening and learning the first week. I'm very excited to have this opportunity!! I am ready to get in there and get things started!!! :) I think I'm still a little bit in shock that I actually did it. Even though my husband and friends all said they knew I would. haha!

I still find myself in disbelief at times even now. Its natural. I think we wont really shake that feeling until we are settled and comfortable in our role as "the" nurse which is going to take some time. Good luck!

Hello, I planning to apply for Lee Memorial Intership for June..I have applied at Mt. Sinai/Florida Health Orlando/Memorial Regional--waiting for an answer. Please can you share some info such which hospitals do you prefer under Lee Memorial Systems? how much is the pay rate? what area is better to live? thank you for sharing with us!

Does anybody know the date they will post the next internship?

Well guys, not to be a negative Nancy, but this is the slow season right now for Ft. Myers so idk if there will be any internships.

Specializes in ER, Med-surg.

I spoke with HR and they said there would be a June internship. I think June is their last internship before the start of season though.

Are you able to pick where you want to intern? I'm only interested in heir OB/Mother Baby and NICU, but I was told there's only one application for the new grad program. Do you let HR know during the first interview? How does it work?

I just put my application in! Fingers crossed for an L&D or NICU position! Good luck everybody!

I did the "phone interview" this morning. It was just a confirmation of what was on the application already. I interview next Tuesday. Any tips?

Has anybody else applied to the July internship?

Hi! Are you still at LMHS's PICU? How do you like it??

Congrats Blink75, very exciting! I am in the application process right now with LMHS, waiting for my first call from the HR, possibly thinking about going over there to present my resume and cover letter in person. How has your orientation/training as a new RN going so far?
