I saw her on the news interview. Beautiful baby girl, just a tad on the hefty side
God bless her and the fortunate family.
My poor daughter, who is almost 8 months pregnant and utterly miserable at this point, saw that in the newspaper and nearly fainted!! She'd just gotten the news that her baby is already 6 1/4 pounds, and gaining roughly a pound a week.....she could easily have a ten-pounder if she goes to term, and there's no reason to think she won't. She isn't even having Braxton-Hicks yet, and is still carrying the baby practically under her chin! :chuckle
I know, I can practically hear premnrs saying it: "Never trust a 35-weeker!". But if she's anything like me, she'll not only make it to term, she'll go a couple of weeks over and have a baby who's half-grown! It's funny, she's already resigned herself to having a C-section even though there's absolutely no indication for it at this early date........I think she just wants to avoid what she calls 'the worst of both worlds'. :uhoh21:
Ow, ow, ow, ow.
lol, that was my exact thought, Marie
Hey, did y'all hear about the 25 lb baby born in the Dominican Republic last year? Apparently it came out with hair and teeth and foretold the end of the world on Good Friday, then it died, and so did the doctor and all the nurses in the room. Just dropped dead. My friend's coworker told her this story in all seriousness. Said she read it on the internet, so it must be true, right?

I thought it was a hoot that the couple's first two girls were almost eleven and almost twelve pounds. They nicknamed them Whopper and Whopper Jr. respectively. They said the Big Enchilada is it for them. I'm glad. They would have had to call the next one Monster Burger.
I wondered if the mom had gestational diabetes (or was diabetic outright). If not, this story is amazing on more than one front.
My fourth was 10 lbs., 2 ozs. If he'd been my first, he might have been an only. Fortunately, I had him in just two hours and neither of us had any major birth trauma to speak of.
It will be interesting to see what these sisters look like in five or ten years. My ten-pounder is now 26 and tall and skinny as a beanpole. Go figure.

LOL! I'm the same way. My fourth was 11 lbs, 1oz, 24 1/2" long. If he'd been MY first, there would no others from me! He was a simple, 3 hour waterbirth, my easiest by far, but as I told the nurses who asked, I'm not going for a 12-lb'er.
13 lbs, 13 oz, though.......yowza. I know it was hard to breathe with my fourth at the end (I felt like a horse-I had to sleep upright so I could breathe! LOL), I can't imagine almost 3 more pounds of baby on top of that!
