Lawson State fall 2017

Hello everyone I would like to congratulate everyone who made it into this falls (2016) cohort. I will be applying to Lawsons fall 2017 cohort. I am creating this forum for those who are currently in the program that would like to encourage the next class and also let us know what to expect and for those applying to the 2017 cohort. Lets also post scores as we complete classes and take the ACT. So far I have taken bio 103, micro, eng, a&p 1, psych 1& 2, humanity, and will be taking a&p 2 and math 100 this miniterm and will be taking hps 103 and mth 186 in January. Oh and also remember no question is a dumb question unless you dont ask it!!!

Is that Birmingham location?

The only orientation I know about is the one on the 18th of August.

Well ladies...I took my CPR Certification today at the Vestavia Fire Station and it was by far the best CPR class I have ever taken!!!!

Mr. Don Williamson was the instructor and I left feeling like I could perform CPR without a shadow of doubt. Best $10 I've spent in a while. He said they wouldn't even charge thought but they have to in order to pay for the cards!!

Does Lawson do a calculations test every semester or just once?

I dont know how they will do it this term, but we only had a calculation test in first semester that we had to pass. We had calculations on every test after that, but that was the only one that you couldnt miss any on.

You couldn't miss any? What kinds of questions are there and how many chances do you get?

Its med dosage and conversions. You cant miss any because its a 100% test. You get three tries. Dont know if they are still doing that this class term. Thats what they did with us. Dont panic it comes like mid semester. You also have HESI every semester and you have two chances to make at least 75%. Hesi effects your grade a but more every semester. Starting with 5% and ending with 25% of your total grade

We have some kind of test on orientation day. I am guessing it will be dosage calculations.

Call Vestavia Fire Administration and ask to be enrolled in the next CPR class that Mr. Don will be teaching.

I'm at Medhelp Urgent Care now hoping to get my vaccinations.

I accepted my seat but can't get any registration information until my major is changed. How do I do that without going to the school?
