Lawson State fall 2017

Hello everyone I would like to congratulate everyone who made it into this falls (2016) cohort. I will be applying to Lawsons fall 2017 cohort. I am creating this forum for those who are currently in the program that would like to encourage the next class and also let us know what to expect and for those applying to the 2017 cohort. Lets also post scores as we complete classes and take the ACT. So far I have taken bio 103, micro, eng, a&p 1, psych 1& 2, humanity, and will be taking a&p 2 and math 100 this miniterm and will be taking hps 103 and mth 186 in January. Oh and also remember no question is a dumb question unless you dont ask it!!!

Did I read correctly that we have a calculations test at orientation? What kind of problems should we be practicing for that?

Does Lawson do a calculations test every semester or just once?

Ok, so I don't have a primary care doctor currently, but I have had all of these vaccines. How do I go about getting them signed off on? I can't remember which doctor I received them from.

You will probably have to do titers.

Ah ok. Also, does anyone know if it is too late to get a student loan? I wasn't sure if I would get in so I didn't start the process other than filling out my fafsa.

When we accept our seat are they emailing us back to that email with more information or our student email?

Lawson State does not do student loans. They do accept pell grants, scholarships, WIOA, and loans from other companies. Unfortunately Lawson doesnt issue loans through fafsa

If you had vaccines just bring proof of the vaccinations with you to a physician's office who can complete the form for you and they will transfer vaccines to paper for you.

Do we have to go to pre-enrollment orientation? I got a postcard about it today, but the hours suck and it is too short of notice to take off work!
