Lawson State fall 2017

Hello everyone I would like to congratulate everyone who made it into this falls (2016) cohort. I will be applying to Lawsons fall 2017 cohort. I am creating this forum for those who are currently in the program that would like to encourage the next class and also let us know what to expect and for those applying to the 2017 cohort. Lets also post scores as we complete classes and take the ACT. So far I have taken bio 103, micro, eng, a&p 1, psych 1& 2, humanity, and will be taking a&p 2 and math 100 this miniterm and will be taking hps 103 and mth 186 in January. Oh and also remember no question is a dumb question unless you dont ask it!!!

I emailed about the test on orientation and a list of first semester books. With as fast paced as nursing is i can't afford to not be prepared. We could have a test the second week of class. I will let you all know what she says.

The first set of books can be found on the bookstore. Its about 470

She said that the test at orientation is more like an evaluation and not to stress about it!

Just want to make sure I haven't missed anything. My degree plan hasn't changed and I haven't received anymore information about registering for classes. Also, is anyone else receiving FA?

When do classes officially start? I am new to Lawson. I can't find a start date on the website. Lawson's website is kinda difficult to navigate. We can't set up email until we register and we can't register until they change us in the system. Anyone else a little frustrated?

I called recently.

They said we should be changed in the system by next week and can go from there. Classes should start August 24.

I just got an email and they have already registered me for classes. Does anyone know what the orientation online class entails?

My degree plan changed, but it says I'm not web authorized to register for classes? Dr. Marable told me that we would receive an email to tell us to register and that we had to choice of which days work best for our schedules? I haven't received an email assigning me to classes yet.

At the bottom of the email there is an attachment that has your detailed schedule. I was accepted into the night program and received an email today.
