Lawson State fall 2017

Hello everyone I would like to congratulate everyone who made it into this falls (2016) cohort. I will be applying to Lawsons fall 2017 cohort. I am creating this forum for those who are currently in the program that would like to encourage the next class and also let us know what to expect and for those applying to the 2017 cohort. Lets also post scores as we complete classes and take the ACT. So far I have taken bio 103, micro, eng, a&p 1, psych 1& 2, humanity, and will be taking a&p 2 and math 100 this miniterm and will be taking hps 103 and mth 186 in January. Oh and also remember no question is a dumb question unless you dont ask it!!!

I just can't take off of work to go up there. I just need them to answer my simple question. I updated my fafsa, what else do I need to do?

One my schedule it says tues 4-12 is that for clinicals?

Yes I believe that'll be our clinical day and it starts somewhere around Sept or Oct. Usually after you do your financial aid you take your tax papers up there for them to verify, I guess. But it may have changed, I've been out of school the last two semesters. My fafsa is still processing so I'm thinking it maybe as late as the first of Aug before it's completely processed.

There are papers that need to be filled out. You will need to make a visit to the financial aid office T some point. Preferabky before school starts because it gets crazy busy the first week of school

They sent me the papers in the mail and I filled everything out and faxed them the verification form, tax transcript and W2's.

Does anyone in the evening program at Bessemer want to go ahead and set up a Facebook page?

I vote we do something like Groupme instead. Me and social media like Facebook don't get along lol. Check the groupme app out and let me know what y'all think

I was just thinking Facebook because that's what most people have. We could always change it once class starts. I don't even know what group me is....lol

It's an app off the play store for groups of people to communicate through. Lstratman told me about it.

She said that was what her cohort used when she was in the program. Hopefully she will come on and explain it better than I am lol
