Lawson State fall 2017

Hello everyone I would like to congratulate everyone who made it into this falls (2016) cohort. I will be applying to Lawsons fall 2017 cohort. I am creating this forum for those who are currently in the program that would like to encourage the next class and also let us know what to expect and for those applying to the 2017 cohort. Lets also post scores as we complete classes and take the ACT. So far I have taken bio 103, micro, eng, a&p 1, psych 1& 2, humanity, and will be taking a&p 2 and math 100 this miniterm and will be taking hps 103 and mth 186 in January. Oh and also remember no question is a dumb question unless you dont ask it!!!

Also, my FA letter came in the mail and it doesn't correspond with what is showing on my "complete registration" amount.. and of course I can't get a hold of anyone... does anyone know why it would t match up?

I can't get into the Complete Registration portion of Student Suite. I'm getting an error saying that I've completed registration but I'm almost positive that is for summer and of course I can't get anyone on the phone either. I've been trying since right after lunch.

I'm nervous that I am going to overlook doing something

They are technically closed today, I have been emailing with Mrs. Sharon. But at the top once you get into your student suite there is a drop down menu and you have to click on fall 17/18.

It is at the very top out to the side of the writing under the logo.

It may be because of the hours/credit you are taking. Nursing first semester I think is only 8hrs. When they initially calculate its for the 12hr full time amount. It is adjusted after you register for classes. So you would only get half-time FA

Also to answer your questions about books. I would not buy them from the bookstore. I bought mine there because i got WIOA so I didnt take a loss there. If you are paying out of pocket or through FA get somewhere else besides the bookstore. That is why its best to wait until the first day of class in case there is a new edition. You can get the edition below it for a much cheaper price off the internet

Yea that is he exact reason for my FAnbeing different. I spoke with Sharon and applied for scholarships í ½í¹í ¼í¿¼ Praying that works out. I bought one of the pharmacology books off of amazon for $30 new instead of the $205 used from the bookstore. I have been in nursing school once before but it's been 7 years and I still have those books but am sure they won't work.

I've called the book store serveral times with no luck. Anyone know which edition and isbn# the 102 fundamentals book is? The one on the website is for the whole set with dvds and and skills pack but I found the whole pack on amazon for $200 cheaper but wanted to make sure it was the right edition and isbn # of the books

What are the financial aid hours for Bessemer? I have been calling and emailed for 3 weeks and no one will return my call. I guess I'll have to go to the school.

I guess they're swamped getting ready for fall or understaffed right now. Usually the bookstore is easier to get in contact with. I also looked for the books elsewhere with the little clues I saw on the bookstore site. I'm guessing it's the new 3rd edition by wilkinson, that's what I plan on getting.

They for sure have banker hours. I would go anytime between. 8-5 mon-thursday

I know you all are anxious about getting books. The best advise I can give is to wait until first day of class. They haven posted syllabus yet so there isn't any missed reading. Howvwr if you absolutely must get them before first day the bookstore is open to go in and browse. Also they will give you a printout of what you need if you ask. Getting anyone on the phone right now might be difficult.
