Lavender?!

Published

How many of you have grown to love Essential Oils as much as I do?:no:? I just had a student come and ask me if I have any "Lavender'? I knew it was probably some Essential Oil. But, I played dumb, and asked the student what it was. But, that NO I didn't have any, nor would I ever have any. I asked him who sent him to ask...He said the Mrs. SoandSo sent him. He showed me a few small scabbed, burned areas from something that occurred over the weekend when the student was too near the stove when dad was cooking supper.

Sorry buddy... no...never...not ever. :banghead: :banghead:

Just found out that one of our students does get a mid day application, to his neck. Thankfully a teacher applies it, God bless her heart. Child really needs pharmaceuticals in my professional opinion. Trust me, I am not a medicate it kind of nurse, my own kids run fevers, no antipyretics, but for one of mine it would be child abuse to not give his Addarall. It is sad to watch kids frustrate themselves because they can't concentrate.

Oil on the neck is not going to help, though. Good lord.

Let's the parent's say they acknowledge the ADHD and they are doing something about it. I did notice his neck is silky smooth.

The oil does help the kids slide down the walls easier when they're bouncing off of 'em.

:roflmao:

if we believe they can trigger asthma, why so hard to believe it can, for some, trigger a healthy response?

Like what?

I am not against them per say, but in this instance, the kid is obviously not responding. The parents have been given updates, but they say that the year we have been doing this is not enough time. The kid is suffering. Given your logic, though, cat dander could also give a healthy response, or pollen, peanut butter, etc. I know what you are trying to say, but may want to word it differently. Not trying to be nasty. I am open to alternative medicine, as I said, I am not big on meds, as I believe a lot of people's problems come from poly-pharm issues.

I am suspicious that someone's first post on a nursing forum is on a SN thread called Lavender about essential oils.

I would like to know what these oils can cure.

MMx2 is nicer than me.

This was easy to find. I know you could have done it, but I don't mind helping out.
