Laundry HELP for stained lab coat

Does anyone know how to get tincture of benzoin out of a white uniform? I tried straight bleach and that didn't work. I hate to throw my brand new lab coat away but the large brown (stool looking) stain caused by a benzoin swab package that leaked in my pocket looks gross.

I've had good results with oxyclean, never used it on benzoin though.

If it's just on the pocket, you can always take off the pocket and put another one on, very easy to do, or put an applique or a cute patch over the stain.

There's a product called Motsenbocker's Lift-Off #3 that is supposed to be able to get out iodine, indelible marker and methiolate. I've never used it myself but it sounds like it might be worth a try.

You can also get creative and embroider something over the stain. Used to do it all of the time.

You may not get it out now since it was already washed and probably has "set" in..but peroxide usually works well for getting out iodine type stains..

You can try the packets of Rit Rust Remover that can be purchased in the laundry section of the grocery store. Soak it over night in two packs. If that does not work Suzannes suggestion is the way to go.

Go to your hospital lab and request a minute at the sink where they do gram stains. A good squirt of gram stain decolorizer ought to do it.

I've had luck with rubbing alcohol in removing betadine stains before they had been washed/dried/set in. Don't know how it will do, but can't hurt to try!

Otherwise, I think it'll have to be pocket replacement, patch, or embroidery. On the plus side, these allow for a little creativity! :)

They make pads called Iogone that takes out iodine. The hospital should have them if not request that they get some, they look like alcohol pads. I dont know however if they work one the stain has been set by washing and drying.
