WOW! the difference in intakes is crazy. The last intake average was 3.6 yet so many people with 3.6 have been waitlisted. I’m retaking 1191 right now, hopefully I’ll get in Spring 2021. Crossing my fingers my marks will be OK due to COVID

What’s your GPA if you don’t mind me asking? I’m sure you’ll do good in your class!

@tapioca16 hi! I was just wondering if you knew if any of the profs don't allow laptops/ipads in lecture?

also, do you find there to be non-stop notetaking, or do some of the profs also give out lecture notes?

Do you mind sharing your GPA? There’s hope! Some people get accepted a few weeks before class starts.

CONGRATS to all of those who got in! For those waitlisted, don’t give up hope.

Got the acceptance email today! Trying to decide if I should do Psych Nursing at Douglas or go to Langara.

To those asking, I have a degree and pre-req GPA of 3.53.

3.468.. not that great. I read on the older posts that if you have the same GPA as someone else they look at how many times you retook courses... So I’m assuming that if you retook courses, you’re less likely to get picked or is it the other way around? If anyone can confirm this or speak about this!!

Got accepted this Tuesday with a 3.7 and no degree. Just wondering if anyone knows what the next steps will be (interview, etc..?).

Langara doesnt do interviews. Next step would be to finish the rest of the requirements (immunization forms, CPR, mask fitting). There's also some modules that can be done but I'm not sure where to access them. Maybe @tapioca16 does?

Hey! I'm also a term 1 Student here :))

All of our Term 1 profs allowed laptops and iPads!

In our experience, 1130, 1109, and 1121 give out lecture notes each week. As for 1160 (skills), our instructor doesn't give out lecture notes (there are two instructors for 1160, so the other one may). 1163 (clinical practice) will require a laptop or iPad at the beginning of the term.

As for note taking, 1130, 1109, and 1121 will have lecture slides so just writing additional notes during lectures will suffice. Since our instructor for 1160 doesn't do slides, WRITE EVERYTHING. Pay close attention and write detailed notes. You can clarify and double check with your instructor later on but do take super good notes in class.

There are some modules that can be done which are super easy to do. They're easy enough to do during the term and they usually coincide with what we're learning in class.

I think the module that you can do right now is IPC Modules (1121): https://modules.ipcontherun.ca/ (Super easy to do, there are short answer questions but either type random letters or do short responses; it does not matter and will not impact your score or go on the IPC module transcript)

Other than that, your instructors will give more information about the modules once you start classes.
