Just wondering if anyone else applied to the Langara Nursing program for the Fall 2022 intake? If so what GPA did you apply with? I'm super demotivated and don't have much hope of getting in since I've heard the fall intake is much more competitive. Let's all help each other out! ?

Thanks!

Hi, I'm applying with a 3.798 GPA. Hopefully the average won't be too high for the Fall 2022 intake

Hey,

That is a good GPA that gives you a good chance of getting in. The highest GPA average for the Fall 2021 intake was 3.8!

Thank you! I'm feeling super anxious and the long wait is definitely not helping. What is your GPA?

My CGPA for Langara is 3.9. You got this ?

I did take BHSC 1200 at BCIT and got an 89% on my first try! It is such a heavy course in my opinion but worth it.

I ended up calling Langara and the admissions advisor calculated my CGPA and it is a 3.668 not 3.468. This gives me a lot of hope since it gives me a better chance of getting in!!

I registered for my CASPer test about a month and a half ago and it is next month ?

Hi I am trying to calculate my GPA but I get so low. Do you know how the advisor calculated your GPA ?

Look up on Google "Langara CGPA Calculator" and input your highest grades for the specific pre-reqs for the BSN program and that will come up with your GPA that Langara will see.

To be honest, I would not advise using online GPA calculators as they can be very inaccurate. I would instead call Langara to speak to an admissions advisor and they will calculate it for you in seconds! I used an online calculator as well and they predicted my GPA was 3.4 when in reality it was not.

I Used the online calculator and also talked to an advisor. Both gave me the same GPA. I have English B, English B, stat 203 A, and BSCH 1200 A.

Hi guys. I’ll be applying with a 3.80 GPA ?

Hey!

Going to be honest with you, I do not know what my GPA is and how to calculate it. My grades are ENGL 1127 B+, ENGL 1129 B, BIOL 1190 A-, BIOL 1191 A-, PSYC 2321, A-.

If you know how to calculate, it would be awesome if you could help me calculate it! I feel like my ENGL 1129 mark is dragging my GPA down, so I might just retake it.

With a 4.0 GPA, I think you have a solid chance of getting in! ?

Good luck everyone!

Hey there!

I'm almost done my first semester at langara taking the prereqs and I noticed that you took PSYC 2321 to meet the math requirement. I haven't taken the math requirement yet and was wondering what you thought of it (and if you're someone who is or isn't good at math naturally)? I'm fairly good at math but it takes a lottt of practice and question asking on my part LOL

Good luck with the Fall 2022 intake! :)

Hey!

Honestly, I am not the best at math, and is my most hated subject! I would do anything to avoid it LOL. However, the course itself was not too bad. You learn all about notations, intro to stats, standard deviation, variances, probability, and z scores. Some of the info you are building on, which is based on what you learned in PSYC 1215/1115 like mean, mode, and median. There are lots of formulas to remember to calculate certain things like variance, deviation, mean, and etc. Overall, it was pretty good just lots of calculating and formulas involved. Good luck with your prereqs and feel free to ask anything else! :)

Hi!

Thanks for your reply!! I totally get it, I'm not a huge fan of math either tbh. You mentioned how in the course, you build on what you learned in a first year PSYC course, so does that mean you took PSYC 1215/1115? If so, do you think I'd be able to take it straight from high school math with (hopefully) little to no difficulty? My registration's tomorrow so I'm still trying to figure out if I'll take the math course next semester or later loll

Thanks:))
