Langara January 2021 intake

Published

Hey guy! Just starting up this trend for Langara's January 2021 intake! I applied couple weeks ago, just exciting to see what awaits us. Who else has already applied?

What time did you guys get your emails/what is the the time stamp under "status date" ?

Edit: for those of you who have gotten a response!

I got it as 12:46 Jul 28. Is this related to the rank of waitlist?

I am not sure, but I don't think it is related. My application still says "is complete" back from May around 16:00, but I was just wondering if perhaps there is a certain time of the day they usually update the statuses.

Do they usually send the waitlisted applicants notices over a 2 day period? My application status hasn’t changed yet - still says application is complete - this waiting is so stressful!

Are they going through applications in alphabetical order (my last name starts with an N) over a 2 day period? My friend knows someone who got accepted today..

That's not true, because I have a Bsc. degree but I got rejected for September 2020 because I had a really low GPA (3.0) for the 5 pre-reqs. You still kind of need to have a competitive enough GPA haha

That's not true. Haha. Everyone needs a 2.33 to have a complete application. Degree holders go to the front of the line. If you got rejected for Fall 2020 it was not because you had a 3.0 with a degree. This was information I received at the information session.

That's what I had heard as well, hence what I said earlier!! An advisor was giving an example and said that a 3.1 GPA student with a degree would be prioritized over let's say a 3.9 GPA.

You are right, Hewooo. I also checked with advising and they have so many applications and because of COVID it might take a few days for all the offers to go out. Deep breaths, everyone--but let us know when someone actually gets an acceptance email---not "my brother's friend's cousin's sister got an offer".

@Hewooo @LaVidaesBuena really?? Then I wonder why I got rejected?? WOW!!. I am so confused. I should've asked them straight up why I got rejected...

Anyways, thanks for letting me know. I wonder if they just don't know that I have a degree, because when I applied, I was finished up my last semester. How sad... Anyways I will ask them now.

Thanks guys! Hope you hear good news soon ?
