LAHC Fall 2017

Hi, all! Just wanted to make a thread to see who has applied to LAHC's Nursing program for the fall semester of 2017! Maybe we can all get together and study for the upcoming TEAS in April if there are some still needing to take it :) I know it's a bit early, but it's better to be prepared!

Hope to hear from admissions soon - I called and asked when emails for the TEAS would be sent out, and the lady said it would be maybe at the end of March!

I talked to _____ yesterday and he said that they are still waiting to hear back from admissions and ideally we would hear about invites this week but it probably won't be until next week :(

I got one too! Did you guys take the TEAS VI yet? I got a 75%, so I'm so nervous if that is not good enough! Does anyone know what is the probability of getting in now since we got an invitation and say that we all pass (which you guys will if you haven't taken it because you guys are awesome and smart)?

Yes! I took it last semester. It's really all about luck at LAHC! I think they accept between 40-60 students each semester! So if 100 were picked/passed teas then we have about a 50% shot at getting in:)

Did you guys use any study materials? I bought the book from the ATI website, but I'm not sure if that will suffice.

Cannot wait to hear for the actual decisions if we got in or not! The wait is killing me honestly haha

I got the study manual plus practice test A and B to get a feel for how the exam will be structured. It also helped me pinpoint areas that I need to study! I also got the Mometrix and it has 3 practice tests. Plus the TEAS mastery app too! I find that using anatomy and physio books really help me brush up on my science, and practicing a lot of math problems too since that's one of my weaker areas.

even with all of that... I still don't feel confident enough for the test!!! Two weeks to go though :( I'm surprised that they only have one testing date. I thought it was going to be two different days. MAYBE that means that there were only a few people needing to take the TEAS and the rest of the qualified applicants just need to send in their scores? I tried calling to ask how many qualified applicants there were, but the person who answered didn't know. :(

Do they respond back to email that we are supposed to send? Confirming they received it?

That's what they did last time I replied but I haven't received a reply yet. I'm going to call them Monday to make sure they received my email
