LAHC Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi, all! Just wanted to make a thread to see who has applied to LAHC's Nursing program for the fall semester of 2017! Maybe we can all get together and study for the upcoming TEAS in April if there are some still needing to take it :) I know it's a bit early, but it's better to be prepared!

Hope to hear from admissions soon - I called and asked when emails for the TEAS would be sent out, and the lady said it would be maybe at the end of March!

Test day was today! I want to say there were about 20-30 people who showed up.

Thank you Katerlene. I pray that there's just enough room for us all.

Did they mention when we would hear back if we are accepted or not?

No :( they just gave us a slip of paper saying if we passed, we continued in the selection process and if not, remediation was available. I left really early so I don't know if the proctor mentioned it later on to other testers. But let's hope it's sometime this coming week! The nerves are getting to me. I'm trying to plan on what to do if I'm not selected í ½í¸

I was also trying to figure out other options if not accepted. I considered doing an LVN program but found those were too expensive and no community college offers LVN course. I also thought of working to improve my not so great prereqscore by retaking a class, Maybe physio. If you don't mind, please share what you plan to do it not accepted into nursing school.

LBCC offers an LVN course, you must have your CNA certificate in order to apply. I might take that route

If I don't get accepted this semester, I'm enrolled into a Spanish course over the summer at LAHC, just to get the ball rolling in case I'd need to speak to patients in espanol in the future! Haha. Other than that, I will most likely be studying some dosage calculations and pharmacology textbooks since they don't offer those two courses during summer. Maybe they will during fall. But I'm definitely going to apply a second time once the application period opens again. Lets hope we all get lucky!!!

I'm glad that you're in good spirits about this Katerleneí ½í¸.I would love to take the LVN course at LBCC but I'm not a CNA. I will certainly reapply in spring if I don't get in this fall. I was also thinking of applying to SMC so maybe I will take the time to study for the NLN exam since the don't use the teas for assessment.

Does anybody know when we should be hearing??

I heard back last application period 8 business days after I took the test but I have no clue when we will get it this semester :(

They've sent out the letters. Unfortunately I wasn't accepted due to the high volume of applicants :(

Was not accepted either. Good luck to those who were.
