LAHC Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi, all! Just wanted to make a thread to see who has applied to LAHC's Nursing program for the fall semester of 2017! Maybe we can all get together and study for the upcoming TEAS in April if there are some still needing to take it :) I know it's a bit early, but it's better to be prepared!

Hope to hear from admissions soon - I called and asked when emails for the TEAS would be sent out, and the lady said it would be maybe at the end of March!

I didn't get in either :(

If this is your dream, please do not give up

Neither did I.

Did not get in either..90th percentile for teas isnt so useful when lotteries come into play. Shouldve just gotten like a 62 and maybe it wouldve went for me.. lol jk goodluck to all , on next app period. I will apply as well.

Did u guys apply to any other schools? I'm an alternate for the southwest program so I'm praying I get in there

Nope, just LAHC for me. Did anybody get in from this forum?? I wonder how many eligible applicants there were and how many seats. I'm already thinking about the dread of not getting in a second time lol.

Seems like there were an unusual amount of applicants. I'm trying to figure out my next move. I applied to 2 other school and haven't herd back. With so may applicant all over I'm not sure anymore.

Hey guys! So I got into LAHC! It was my second time applying and got denied twice by 3 different schools! Been doing this process for a year now! So if you didn't get in keep trying!!! It I'll happen, promise!!

I have the same dread. I also didn't get in due to volume.

I have a question: How do you plan to tell your parents and family? My mother is a nurse and has been putting major pressure on me. How do all of you plan to handle disappointing the parents?

I'm glad that you got in Fmiller11. You deserve it! Hope that I can get in next application period.

Omg, THIS!!! I know how you feel. Once I got the email, I sat there for a bit letting it hit me and soaking up the entire experience. For me, it was tough. I've been in and out of school for about 6 years and finally applied somewhere and my family has been waiting on it for much longer than that. I know it's tough with all the pressure, but what helped us was that they knew it was a lottery system. It was all luck! Make sure your parents understand you've worked hard, and finally got to the milestone of applying. It's a big step! They will feel disappointed at first, but reassure them that perhaps everything happens for a reason. maybe you can take different classes (personally, I am continuing my pre read for my second major, clinical lab science & that'll take even longer!) or work to get some extra money, do something you enjoy! Don't be too hard on yourself (I know it's easier said than done). But, like FMiller said, it'll happen! I have a friend who didn't get in on the first time either, but she did her second time applying. Just keep your head up and remain positive :) and if you even need some support after spilling the news, we are here for you!

I have the same problem, my family have been waiting for me to get into the program. I feel like I'm getting older and not accomplishing anything. My mom kinda figured she asked me about the program the moment I received the email. Explain to them that it has nothing to do with us, it is a lottery based system and it's all on luck.
