hi,
i need some sound advice about my situation. i completed 3.5 semesters of an acelerated bsn program in the boston area and was dismissed due to a clinical failure 3 weeks from graduation. i had excellent grades, and even made the dean's list a few times. (and for the record, i did not put a patient in any harms way. it was strickly a political/personality situation, and unfortunately i have no recourse so i need to move forward.)
i've looked into a few other schools, but they do not transfer upper lever [color=#ae04e8]nursing courses which means i'd have to re-take nearly all of the classes i already passed. (that is if they accept me because of my clinical failure!!) this is a really tough pill to swallow, and i'm not getting any younger.
i can't fathom starting over from scratch again, so i'm looking to anyone in this forum who may have some reliable advice. (i was told from one school that they would accept two classes, but that was about it. they also have a board you can petition, but that is a time consuming process and it's not always a guarantee.)
will i be forced to watch all my hard-earned credits drift out to sea??? it's just heart-breaking.
i'm so close to finishing.....i need some realistic ideas about other options. are there any schools in the boston area that will tranfer my hard-earned upper-level nursing credits??? unfortunately, relocating is not an option for me at this time.
praying for a response(s) that will set me on a new track so i can finish what i started.
red face:mad:
I think I've just figured something out.
It's always the posters who respond in a "pass judgement" way that confuse things. Usually, it's the young ones who try to judge anything that moves. They do not yet understand that they have no power to do so, and that the threadmaker is not asking for anything but helpful advice.
The law these confused posters live by is the very same that ruled the teenage world they still have one foot stuck deep in. So, they will accuse (usually a very much more accomplished person) of "probably" having done something childish as the cause of the problem outlined. Since they do not have both feet in the adult world as of yet, their realm of possibility is immature.
They are quick to anger when admonished, and make me laugh (I go pop popcorn for everybody). The only worth they have for me is the immature back and forth one-ups that follow, because ...well they are too young to have game :) And I have a soft spot for stupid personal insult comics.
Don't know if I explained it well, but, I gave it a shot.

Best explanation I've seen so far.....I'll have to think about it. Can't say that I'm usually as soft-hearted as you or as willing to make excuses for youth and inexperience when said inexperienced youth descends so quickly into attack mode.
This will be my personal improvement project for the week:lol2:
And on the positive side, we nearly made it 5 pages before things took a turn to the ugly:yeah:

I'm just saying maybe it was deserved. i didn't ASK for her to post more details. if she doesn't want to, then thats fine. but there are circumstances where i believe it is deserved for a person to fail clinicals. We don't know the circumstances, so we don't know if it was deserved or it wasn't.
im not going to help someone or give advice to someone who MAY have deserved to be failed.
