Kennesaw State Uni. Spring 2014 Nursing

Hey!

Has anyone applied to KSU for the Spring 2014 program?

I am also applying for the accelerated program. I keep checking on the owl express website because last semester I was able to sign up for my interview before I even got my interview letter. I get worried every time that I haven't gotten an interview, but probably they haven't opened it yet!

I also greatly admire you McEm - I am a single parent of two children and I cannot imagine trying to juggle school and a child and dealing with the loss of a husband as well. I hope that volunteering is not a huge factor because I have not had any extra time!!

Thank you both for your condolences. I also work, but am trying to save up enough money so I can quit my job while in nursing school.

JoannaSmith - what about your interview do you feel did not go well? Did you talk to anyone in advising after you were denied last semester? I worry that they might decline people who seem to have "too much on their plate." And being a single mom, I know, can seem that way, but we're also very dedicated and we definitely have learned how to juggle many things at once.

Everyone let us know if you get a letter! I was stalking the postman today even though I am well aware that today is not the day. :)

McEm- they will only know that you have "too much to juggle" if you come off that way. Use it to your advantage. Having children makes me more dedicated and motivated bc I am doing this for more than just myself.

I agree, Elliot08. I must be successful, because if I fail, I'm not only letting myself down, but my son, too. And my husband. He was so proud of me for pursuing this, even through his illness; he was always bragging to his nurses that his wife was going to be a nurse too. I didn't get a letter today, and Owl Express hasn't changed. I'll be sure to post when I get my news!

If you don't get a letter this time...try again. Perseverance and commitment are as valuable a lesson to teach your son as is nursing! Good luck!

Of course, and I will. :) I was more referring to succeeding while in nursing school, why I would be dedicated to my studies even with a lot going on in my life.

I just checked owl express and was told I was not pre-selected to interview, that's the first time I've checked there though so I don't know how long it has been there, I've been checking my e-mail thinking that's where the first notice would be, anyone else checked theirs today? Looks like I had better gear up to re-test and start over for next semester :/

That's what it always says in Owl Express until they open it up for interviews. I haven't heard of anyone getting the notification by email, only snail mail. And sometimes the interview section in OE does open up before you get your letter.

You just made my day, it occurred to me that it might have always said that but figured it was just wishful thinking, since it specifically says "you were not selected" rather than something more generic...

Anxiously awaiting the mail..not feeling like I will have good news though. I think after being denied once I can be all but optimistic! :(
