Hey,
I'm new to this site and would like some information/advice on the interviewing process. I haven't heard anything about the interview which sucks, but I have to prepare....Does anyone know when they will be mailing out the interview letters? What kinds of questions do they ask? If you do not mind to share your GPA and TEAS with me also. Thanks so much! Best wishes for those who have applied!
Anxious,

No, I don't have specific info about the masters in ed., but I wrote that down because it got my attention! And it makes a lot of sense. Maybe I'm thinking of another college on the interview thing, but I don't know what it would be because I only talked to Mercer and Emory there and a bunch of hospitals.
Hey All-
If you've not seen this, check out the most current NCLEX passage rates for GA schools....:)
I had a 3.2 program GPA and an 83 on the TEAS and I was rejected by KSU three times last year. They said they had over 600 applicants for each application period and they kept telling me to reapply. It was a stressful year for me last year.
I'm now going to Mercer next fall. Turns out I could have started their program two years ago with my prerequisites if I had known about them sooner. Oh well. I'm just glad my waiting game is over.
Good luck to everyone and don't get discouraged!!
Also, the program at Mercer in Atlanta seems to take a more holistic approach to admissions. Their deadline is not until Mat 1st--so there is still plenty of time to apply for Fall. It's a 2 year traditional program, and they offer scholarship funding as well. They admit on a rolling basis and get back with you quickly. I was admitted with 2 weeks of my application being complete.
Honestly, I've been very impressed with their level of customer service!
It makes sense to apply apply apply--give yourself as many opportunities as possible. GSU, West Georgia and Clayton State also offer BSN programs...
Don't give up! :)
This was the reason I fell in love with Mercer. It's worth the tuition and loans I may owe when I'm done. After a year of sending out applications to other schools that said no, I felt I wasn't going to get in anywhere because I don't have as competitive of a GPA or TEAS score. Then I discovered Mercer and thought "Why not?" and I got in! :) They really do look at you holistically on an individual basis. I can't wait to start!
I have two questions concerning Kennesaw admissions. As a transfer student, do they count every class that you have ever taken that will transfer into your gpa, or do they take the last attempt at a course? Secondly, in order to apply for the accelerated nursing program, must all of your sciences be complete? (CHEM 1151, CHEM 1152, A&P I, A&P II, and Micro?) Thanks for the clarification.

KSU uses your adjusted GPA (AGPA) which includes all coursework completed and uses the best grade earned for each course. To apply to the accelerated program in addition to having a previous bachelors degree, you need to have at least 5 of the 7 math and sciences completed and 7 of 12 prerequisites completed prior to the application deadline.
