If your schedule is packed, I would not shadow. I would concentrate on A's! Like blueyes said, be specific. You have to tell a specific example or story for every question, but I felt like the "tell us what brought you to nursing" or "why do you want to be a nurse" was just a warm up question and you could be a little more broad. But then they go into "tell us a time when...." and that's when you have to tell a specific story that relates. It's a little nerve wracking and you kind of feel like your stories are stupid, but they want a story to write down and then it is rated. Be sure to prep by writing down everything in advance and then I found it easier to pull from those stories. The questions seem to be the same, for the most part, every time (I've done it twice and got in the 2nd time, but not due to the interview....I had high interview score the first time). I was nervous to the max both times....I'm just not a very good storyteller, but I made it thru! Good luck!

Just got the contract and acceptance letter in the mail. A fellow student mentioned to me that it might be smart to hand deliver it back to Fran so that's what I'm doing next week (& keep a copy for my files).

Yeah, I kind of didn't study for the TEAS as much as I should have the first time, but you're not really sure what you're studying for until you take the test! Good luck! You're almost there! This program is not for the faint of heart!

Piju....Don't give up if you don't get in this time. Being interviewed means you're almost there, but especially in accelerated where there aren't many spots, it's a lot of people that have 4.0's, and high TEAS, which I consider a TEAS high at 87-93. One person I know had a ridiculously high TEAS at 94 or something, and she was very smart as well and it took her 3 attempts just because there were still some lower categories for her out of her five and she corrected those and started this fall. A story like that actually gave me some faith when I was turned down last semester. You may hear, well so and so got in w/ an 82 teas, but it is my opinion that all of the 5 categories need to be high at this time because look at our economy.... a lot of people are rushing to this in demand field and that makes an already overcrowded situation even worse. And one more thought, maybe go for traditional next time not accelerated, where there are more spots. They can discuss all of this w/ you in person in advising, which is what I did. I hope I'm not being too intrusive w/ my advice, but I've lived to tell the tale!

Oh, that stinks. But try not to sweat too very much. Do you have other classes to take? I would meet w/ F. asap and she will look over all of your scores and tell you what was low and what to bring up. Believe me, I was completely shocked when I didn't get in for the fall because I had a 3.91 overall and I thought certain categories like that would bring me in as well as my professional demeanor....but no! I didn't get in, had to re-take the TEAS, etc. But this is what happens because there are so few spots compared to the large number of people applying. Then you have very sharp people as well that have degrees in biology, etc. that are applying for traditional so it's just a competitive situation. You have to be patient and persistent and your time will come....probably for you, next time!

I got in this time!!! WOW! I'm in shock!! Also, I just have to say this.....it anyone doesn't get in, just remember it is not unusual to have to try 2 or even 3 times. I know of more than one that got in on the 3rd time. I hope this doesn't happen to any of you, but you just have to correct what was low and then you'll get in!

Last time it was email for the accepted ones and unaccepted as well, but it could be by letter. My accepted friend (accel) knew a day earlier than I (trad). I think letter is their preferred way, but sometimes they get behind. Just my interpretation. Good luck to everyone!!!

Well, the interview week is over. How do we feel? I'm a little hyped up and not in a good way. I'm trying to get a positive attitude going. I basically do not like behavioral interviews and I hope I never have to do another one!
