I don't believe you can. you will have to decline and reapply. But ask them!

Hi there! Current student here: according to our handbook, you cannot defer your acceptance.

Once admitted into the program, the student may not defer. If the student does not begin the program, upon acceptance, the student will need to reapply and re-interview and the student will be treated as a re-applicant.

Those that have applied and gotten accepted, what was the time range from application to interview to acceptance? And also what were your stats if you don't mind sharing? I applied on the 11th and I'm waiting to hear back now!

  • 2 years vascular thoracic ICU nurse in September
  • studying for ccrn to take the test soon
  • gre: 299
  • 48 hours of shadowing
  • 3.3 overall GPA
  • 2.8 science if they average the grades, higher if they replace the grades

Good luck to everyone! Remember to review CCRN material, review medications you use in your specialty, and just be you. Stay positive ❤️

I personally believe being at a larger hospital might allow for you to see a higher acuity. I have friends who work in smaller hospitals and their ICUs are similar to the stepdown unit in my hospital.

May I ask how long they gave you to consider if you were going to accept or reject your acceptance?

Save your money and avoid significant headaches. This is the ONLY school in South Florida that does not allow students to retake a class under any circumstances. Additionally, if you receive two C's, you will be dismissed without the opportunity to appeal.

I personally know someone who was dismissed from the program due to receiving 2 C's, from the same professor. At one point, she asked if she needed 0.5 additional points, he would give it to her, his response was : absolutely not . Despite maintaining an A in every class except pathophysiology, she was still dismissed, leaving her with over $60,000 in student loans. Every corhot they loose a few students for the same reasons. Please be aware of these policies. There're so many different better options out there!

Fgcu you can't even receive a C

University of Miami, Barry, FIU allow you to repeat a class if you have to, or you can get 3 C's. They care about their students, and they would anything to help. Like a mentioned, so many different options out there.

May I ask if your friend had outside factors that contributed to the two Cs or was it more to do with the specific professor?

Hi there, I would say the professor, but as they're not doing anything about it, so I would blame the program. I just had someone sending me a private message who's on the first semester and got a C already with this same professor, and its not even pathophysiology yet. For his final he gave 75 questions and only 1h20min to complete the exam.
