Keiser University CRNA program 2024

Hello! I'm applying for the upcoming January 2024 start date! I would love to get more information and hear the journey of other nurses!

Did tou complete all the prerequisite courses? A&P I & II, 2 chemistry, health assessment, and statistic? I'm looking into this program as well.

Yes done with everything except working on my last chemistry course now. I'll be done in October and I plan on letting them know I'll be done two to three weeks before the class ends. They told me last year they filled their last spot on Oct. 15th. What about you?

I'm planning on taking those courses, where did you take yours at? Are they advanced courses or undergraduate? I only have to take another chemistry and APII. Trying to figure out the fastest way to get these completed, as I literally just found out about this program today while working

@EverBlessed Oh wow. I'm at Doane University. It just started yesterday. You could try Portage Learning Academy, they're self-paced and you can get done with their class in as little as 21 days. I'm not the type of student that can be success doing this, so that's the reason I chose Doane.

I currently attend the program and am in the didactic phase. What are you specifically looking to know?

How was the interview, class size, how are liking the program, and do you live locally? Sorry for all the questions LOL

The interview was pretty much the same as most schools. Know your hemodynamics and be prepared to answer relevant questions about your experience and patient populations you've worked with.
Class size is in the 20s.
The program is hybrid so classes are online the first 4 semesters then you move to either Naples or Tampa 5th semester based on where you are placed for clinical. You get the choice to request one or the other on your acceptance letter but I don't have much info farther than that because I'm not at the clinical stage yet. You can move to Naples earlier if you want but COL is high.
Hybrid isn't bad as you are still live with instructors on camera. I like it because I can do everything within the comfort of my own home and it cuts commute times. If you do not like technology or interacting via technology I would say you probably will not enjoy the hybrid setup. We also travel to campus every 8 weeks for in person sim lab and other things. Overall I'm enjoying the program and the instructors are very approachable and want you to succeed.

Are you able to share information on the books? Did you purchase, rent, or use pdf? How was the first term? I know someone that's starting.

I personally wouldn't buy any books until starting. They'll give a list during orientation I think. Get a feel for the class and see if the books will be needed as a supplement for you. A lot of the books are available for cheap online used.  But the exam material is from the PowerPoints. The first term is extremely challenging; not to sugar coat it is very intense. Pharmacology and Anatomy are the hardest classes first semester. One of the hardest parts is juggling all of it- especially if you haven't been a student for awhile. Once you get through first semester things settle out and you're in the flow of things. But the first semester you are constantly feeling behind.

Are they interviewing for both January and August 2024 or do they fill January first?

@NurseRJICU I haven't heard of them filling the next cohort before finishing another.
