ok - listen - First this is a second career for me and- Two, Cosmetolgy was my first for many years.

I am so accustomed to the world of beauty as I know it with glamourous hair and well manicured nails and such and I feel like I am always this plain Jane all the time. I just wanna run out and get a nice french manicure, french pedicure and stick my foot in a sexy shoe, not some danskos -you know? I am sick of this dog gone pulled back look and or ponytail. I just feel so un-sexy all the time and it starting to affect my self esteem. Not that any of that makes you, but it has been a part of me for so looooong. You know how it is when you get done up and you get an instant bit of swagger in your walk. I'm having some trouble adjusting sometimes. I don't feel like this most days at all but when I do - boy do I feel it. When off the clock, I'm too tired to even care about sexy. It's so sad, because all I do is find some more unsexy clothes like sweats when off the clock- so I am constantly in a state of unsexy.

So what do you do to preserve your sexy??

Sexy is a state of mind. Hitching your self esteem onto blown out hair and stiletto shoes shows a lack of true self confidence.

I'm still a student, but I think that getting massages, pedicures/manicures(no artificial nails of course) and facials help me feel sexy. I can't go that often on a student's budget, but when I'm a nurse I plan to do it more often! If my skin looks good and is soft and glowing, I feel really feminine and pretty! I also exfoliate my hands and put a foot cream (yes, a foot cream because it's thicker) on them at night so that they won't be dried out and flaky from all the constant washing..... Just like the other posters have said, working out and eating right can go a long way to boost your self-esteem/make you feel sexy too.

I stuff the crotch of my pants.

That's so funny....*wineYou crack me up! Do you really?

Thank you. Why do you want or need to be sexy at work? As women we sometimes have enough problems being taken seriously anyway. If you dress in a way that is not professional how do you think to will be treated? I have over heard doctors talking about the way a nurse was dressed......somethings are better left for days off. Maybe you need to rethink your career choice. No make-up for me thank you.

Tons of varied scrub sets and tennis shoes, studded earrings of all colors and styles! I change up my hair style and color often too! Scented hand lotion during breaks...we work with what we can! :wink2:

"Sexy" is a state of mind. Have to say it doesn't work for me at work. As I do work in an emergency dept., one must take care not to dress or act in a provocative manner because it attracts the wrong attention. Save the sexy for off hours...........:wink2::wink2:

I always wear makeup and fix my hair nice, its pulled back with a "fake hair" extension. lol. But I fix myself up as if Im going out, but with scrubs on. I wear nice underwear and bra, I dont wear "granny panties". Wearing sexy under clothes can make you feel sexy, even though only YOU know you are wearing them. When Im home, Im in sweats and teeshirt. Ive gained too much weight to wear any of my "normal clothes" and that is depressing because I cant feel "sexy" except for when Im AT work! At least I can fit into my scrubs. lol

Past about college age, dressing in tight pants and short skirts with a bunch of make-up starts to get kind of pathetic. It screams I'm easy and haven't figured out what being a real adult is like. As one's looks fade it gets even more pathetic. Big nails and hairdos scream that a person doesn't have anything more important to do than fritter their good money away.

I've never understood how people equate a hairdo and make-up and certain clothes with " sexy." For that matter, all the make-up on the world won't give you what you either never had or has long faded. That kind of charisma is either there or it isn't. For most of us, it isn't, I don't care how you think you look. As for compliments and whistles, any old broad can get those, there's always some lowlife who can be turned on by that, but there are probably as many rolling eyes and snickers. I know from seeing my mother-in-law that this is true.
