Yep, I have finally had enough and faxed my resume out to several area hospitals and posted it on monster.com

I am asking that you all keep your fingers crossed, pray and send warm thoughts and wishes my way as I have 2 interviews scheduled. 1 for this coming Wednesday and one for the following Thursday.

Something about thought of starting over again scares the heck outta me but it could be the begining of a beautiful begining too!

I'll keep you all posted on how things go.

I have found it works best when you at least interview with ANY prospective employer that seems AT ALL interesting, and delaying any final decisions until you have talked to quite a few. It is easier not to get stampeded into a job you aren't going to be satisfied with if you give yourself a lot of choices. (Same with dating, for that matter.)

Good luck.

Untamed, I did the same thing 9 months ago -- after 21 years at the same facility, in the same department!! Talk about scary: writing the resume was the first reality check, then scheduling the interview, THEN actually going through the interview!! But you'll be stronger for it. As Calvin' dad always says (from Calvin and Hobbes): It'll build character.

BTW, I didn't get the new job at first but they called me back five months later and offered it to me. Good hours, no call, small hard-working department, no call, staff inservices, no call, ---- did I mention I don't have to take call?? After 21+ years of taking call every other or every third week, it's a very welcome change!!

And I feel like we're not just workhorses to push the cases through (I work in a cath lab), that the Cardiologists care about educating us -- I really feel part of a team, making a difference.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack, just wanted to encourage you: good luck and I hope you get just the position you want, and that it's everything you expected, and more. -- D

Thanks everyone.......I'll be able to report on interview numero uno tomorrow....I got major butterflies and I sure the hell don't know why.......lol lol Tomorrow it is an interview for a ER position-Dayshift.

Dinah......did you mention that you did not have to take call any more???? HMmmmm, I don't remember you saying.....:chuckle

sjoe.....don't have to worry about the dating scene. I removed my self from that 18.5 yrs ago.........lol thanks for the input though :D

Tweets.....don't keep yer toes crossed too long or your fingers for that matter, unless it's figuratively....other wise work, walking and other activities will become way difficult....:kiss

Well....off to get ready for an appointment at Occ Health and then the 3-11 shift.......Until tomorrow folks!

Well, I went for one of my 2 interviews. This hospital is only 30 minutes from my home, which would be a heavenly commute after driving 57 miles 1 way for almost 6 years.

Well, it was the shortest interview in history, lasting 25 minutes!!!! And I got very good vibes from it, sounds like I may get offered the job. It was for an ER position, straight days (WOOT!!). They have 13 beds and see about 40-50 pts in 24 hours. Small but impressive. Sooooooo, I will keep you all abreast of the situation.

I just want to thank you all and send you all a HUGE hug for your support, warm thoughts and prayers. It's nice to know that I have a "family" that is so supportive.

Thanks Guys and Gals!!! You da bomb diggy!

WOOT! So, the "worst" (worst = the FIRST interview) is over! When is your second interview? You haven't made your choice yet, have you?? I want to hear about the second one, too. I'm so glad you're excited and have some good opportunities available! Good luck! -- D
