Don't give up hope yet girls! They might figure it out. I think it's more important than ever, especially if COVID is cyclical, that they get more nurses in the field. To do that they need to start graduating and pushing out students. I really think they're going to try their best to get people in, at least I really hope, it's like the only thing I have to look forward to right now so I'm holding out a little longer with hope.
I've literally taken all pre-reqs for KCC and the Manoa part of program and all pre-reqs for the HPU program I applied to as well, so I have no idea what classes I would even take in the fall LOL
I feel like they'll work things out. I was looking at threads of other current nursing school application cycles throughout the mainland and I only found one other program going through this but they ended up sorting things out too. Other programs have switched to online and other alternative clinicals which sounds kind of weird but then I was thinking... they obviously can't just implement these alternative clinicals if it wasn't approved by the school, accrediting agency, and state board of nursing... right? And if that's the case, then it shouldn't be a problem for kcc to implement it too so the current students can also get their hours. I'm not certain but it just makes sense.

Can I ask you why Chaminade is your backup and not HPU? I don't know much about the Chaminade program and there's not a lot of info on their website... would our classes rollover from the UH system?
Hey! I know some information about Chaminade, I just got into their program for the nursing program starting Fall 2020. My roommate is in her second year at Chaminade and the majority of her UH classes transferred over. If you have any more questions, I can try to help you out!

hi! I heard credits are transferable yet you would have to stay for 4 years no matter what ? I’m not too sure it was like two years ago when I talked to one of the counselors there. The reason why most of nursing students are double majored.

Yes! Still have to go through the 4 year program, but at least they still take the credits & you don’t have to redo them! I know they are working on creating a two year program, but don’t know when it will be up & running.

Thank you so much for the offer! CONGRATS on getting into the program. The whole 4 more years thing is a huge deterrent for me, as I have already been at KCC now for almost 3 years working on all the pre-reqs while working full-time etc. It's been a long road already and I just want to get the ball rolling.
I hope they tell us sooner rather than later what they intend on doing this fall.

I have a very strong feeling as days go by that they won’t accept students for fall...
