KBCC Spring 2021 KINGSBOROUGH COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Published

I recently transferred to KBCC and will be taking the TEAS exam in December. I'm registered to take Microbiology and Applied Physical Sciences for Allied Health Careers this fall. I'd like to connect with others who are on the same path this semester with the intention to form a support/study group. Present students are welcome also.

@Starsha @BordeauxMama do any of you know how many students are acceptor per cohort? I just got my acceptance into preclinical so I’ll be taking the sci 2500 in the Spring. Also, what score is consider proficient?

@Keisha Parris the proficient score starts at 58.7. The nursing department accepts only 90 students each cohort.

Hey everyone!! I just took the TEAS today. I've been at KBCC since 2018 taking pre/ co -requisites. I didn't make the cut for last semester as it was GPA based only--No TEAS. Im really hoping I get into the program this semester. My GPA is 3.6. I scored proficient. I wish I knew what the lowest GPA/TEAS score were accepted for last Spring 2020. I have no idea where I stand in the application pool. My anxiety is high! Wishing you all the best of luck.

I'm hoping that you receive an acceptance letter soon! The wait is nerve wracking!

Does anyone have any insight on KBCC hybrid classes? Know anyone in the program from Spring 2020 or the Fall 2020? I wonder how the students have managed with hybrid and clinical. Do you think they'll ask us to get the V a (( in e?

@BordeauxMama my friend did her firstborn semester in nursing in the fall, and she did great. She ended the semester with an A and A-. She did say it was challenging as most of the class ended with C’s.

@Nawkole I got into the Professor you recommended for SCI2500 class. Can you tell me how many exam/quizzes he gives? How many lab reports? Does he give review for his exams?

Thats great news! I got a little ahead of myself and started reviewing the classes in the first semester to gage the content. It seems very, very content heavy. Im speaking this acceptance into existence every morning, LOL. A and A- sounds great. I can't wait for these results!!

Who did you go with for SCI 25?

I Had Prashad. EASY A.

@BordeauxMama I went with Mancini as everyone recommended him. How many exams/quizzes Prashad gave?

He only gave 3 exams and the final. I took his Saturday class. No homework really. It was very easy. I took it in Spring 2020. I got a B+ because I had too much on my plate adjusting to remote learning with my family at the same time. My first test I didn't do well. In the end, I was one point away from an A. I recovered quickly those last few tests. Mancini gives more work. But he’s a great professor. You cannot go wrong with either one.

@BordeauxMama I definitely don’t need more work as I work full time and have two small children to tend to as well. Was his exams all multiple choice?

@Keisha Parris

There's a weekly lab quiz and 3 exams.  He also assigns online homework but it is not challenging at all.  Just reinforces the lessons.  All of his lectures are on Youtube.  You can search his last name and Sci 25 they will pop up.  Let me know if whether you have any issues locating them.  He provides tons of resources for the class as well as to prepare you for the TEAS.
