Does anyone have any experience with the Kaplan "NCLEX-RN Complete live online" class? I am trying to decide between taking the regular Kaplan in-person class, the live online class, or just getting the qbank. I'm leaning toward the live online class or the qbank. Just curious if anyone has done this and what your experience was like; good or bad.

Do a search on this forum for previous experiences. Seems I remember a couple (or more) reports that the live review was not that great (the person conducting the review only went through practice questions and was not able to answer the questions of students). For me, I think I would stick with the QBank.

I actually just took the kaplan live online class, i didnt mind it at all. i actually felt like i understood the decision tree with all of the questions that were done in class. there are always people there to answer your questions you just have to talk to them in the chat room. i just took my Nclex-rn and passed with 75 questions. i felt it really helped me! hope this helps....
good luck!
Yes I did do a search on the online Kaplan course, but didn't see anything that was very recent, caliotter3. I might just go with the test bank though because, well it's cheaper!! Thanks for your input.
Thanks for the information jnfrn2010. I'm still deciding whether or not I want to spend that much money on Kaplan. I have the review book, which I like. It's just soo much money!!

I took the in class Kaplan version, however I had access to the online one as well. I can tell you they are honestly the same thing with the difference being the setting. Overall though Kaplan helped me pass in 75!

I took Kaplan with my other friends but don't find it beneficial at all. We all failed 'cause all we did was do Q&A's in class. Caliotter is right that its better to get the Qbank because its worth the money.
I am now am doing Hurst review online because my friends who enrolled are now RN's.

A555-
how is the hurst review so far.... im thinking of starting it on friday....so far do you think its worth the $$$$
Hurst online review is $300. It is fun to listen with andthe lectures retains in your mind. It is both lecture and Q&A's in one. Go to their website: hurstreview.com to listen to their review samples.
Kaplan Live and Complete are $499.
Kaplan Qbank is $299.
Right now I dont care if I spent a lot. I always tell myself that if I become a nurse everything will be ok then.
Gooodluck to us! :)
I was looking that the Hurst review too, but I haven't seen as many good reviews for it as I have for Kaplan.
I'm still considering just studying from books- i have Saunders, Kaplan and am getting LaCharity.
Most people I have talked to have said taking a review class is worth it, however.
A555 when are you taking the NCLEX? I'm interested in hearing if the Hurst review helps you!!
These companys make quite a bit of money on our fear of failing the NCLEX!!!

Hi Shockable,
I tried almost every review online and live, bought a lot of books and and was so diappointed with it. I was so overwhelmed with everything. I then sticked to a few: Saunders Comprehensive and Q&A's, La Charity, NCSBN Iphone app and Hurst review online.
Its been hard on my part since I graduated my BSN on 2006 internationally, have an 8 months baby, working full time and studying after. So far I finished the whole Saunders comprehensive book, doing Q&A's La Charity and the NCSBN (if I cant sleep) and listening over and over the Hurst review online. I decided to take Hurst because of the positive feedback my friends told me. I am also taking my NCLEX-RN this Aug. I hope we all pass.

i did the in person classes twice
the first time, i got NOTHING out of going to class, and learned better and more and the same exact thing online
SO i called to complain, they talked me into staying, but with a different instructor ...i did it, the only benefit to that was she gave cute little tips ...its really a mixed bag of who you will get out of the 4 people i know, 2 peple loved loved loved their instructor ...2 disliked theirs a lot
i still say you can learn the same thing in class, but online. I learned the decision tree online, and seriously with the nclex ..decision tree goes out the window, i would choose kaplan again ONLY because of their level of difficulty when it comes to questions, it almost mirrors the nclex
thanx A555.....im actually gonna sttart the hurst review tomorrow.....i hope itz worth it :)
