kaplan q trainers

I am planning on taking nclex next week, but my q trainer scores are below the 65% that kaplan recommends...its so frustrating because I have been studying and keep getting around a 58-60% on trainers 1-4.

I don't know what to do. Any recommendations? Should I postpone the test?

~ 60 is fine.

My Kaplan instructor says to take the test 3 weeks after the kaplan course. I don't think a week is long enough to finish the Q banks & question trainer 5 & 6.

Did you take the trainers 1-3 before the class, like they recommend? If so, then after the class, you take the trainers 5 -7, and they should be better (don't remember where 4 fits in, sorry)...

Or did you just take the online questions? Either way, I think you want some time in between the trainers to do lots and lots of questions, or I don't see how your scores could increase from one to the next.

If you are set on taking it next week, maybe try the next trainer, to see how you do on that one. You'll probably be fine, but it would stink to find out that you weren't ready when you are already taking the test...

I took the Kaplan course from 5/24-5/27. Didn't get a chance to take 1-3 prior to the course starting. My instructor told us to take 4-7 9 days prior to our test date. Taking a q trainer every other day and reviewing the answers the days in between.

do u have to take the kaplan course in order to get the cd, I would love to have the cd cause i cant afford the class?

How did you do on the readiness exam?

On the Readiness I got a 60.

Just keep doing questions & studying the rationales & I'm sure you'll be fine. Kaplan Q's are supposed to be tough anyways. If you're really unsure then just re-schedule the exam. I'm sure you rather put it out another couple of weeks than fail & have to wait even longer. Good luck!

Thank you for posting this! I have been doing the online version off and on. My lowest is around a 49% (while watching my 2 year old) and my highest is probably a 66%. They are very hard, I keep beating my head in trying to improve. But I have heard ~60 is recommended. Good luck studying!

They are so hard! I can't wait to get this over with. I want to take it next week, but won't take it unless I feel somewhat prepared. But like my instructor said...we are never going to feel prepared. I'm also taking Virtual ATI which I am doing much better on. Kaplan just seems really really hard which is good cause then critical thinking skills can improve.

Postpone the test only if you feel you are not ready.

My scores ranged from 50 something to I think 70, I passed in 75 questions. Make sure you are reading the rationales for the questions (even ones you got right) and understand why your answer was right or wrong in comparision to the other answers.
