Has anyone taken the Kaplan-RN review course?? What are your thought? Did you pass?
I enrolled in Kaplan I just started but I really heard a lot of good reviews about it. I tried a lot of review books Saunders, Lippincott, Nclex4000, Mosby and a whole lot more but still I failed . I think Kaplan online is really good they said its the blueprint of NCLEX the questions are similar to NCLEX questions.
The question bank was great for getting better acquainted with questions you can expect to be similar to the exam. The answer tree helps on those questions that might stump you. It can be useful to some people, but not everyone. The biggest asset is the additional practice questions. I noticed a small handful were very similar to ones I have seen, but not identical.
Immediately the following variables come to mind:
- The learner's amount of self-discipline (can you complete Saunders first in about 10 days- push yourself to build this stamina before paying for a course!)
- Previous success with self-directed learning (online courses, etc.)
- Study environment at home, access to local quiet study spots (libraries etc)
- Other commitments (family, work, etc.)
For me Kaplan Online seems like the perfect choice. I am not going to waste time commuting to a crowded class and take the chance of having a bad instructor.
I have been successful at many many online courses, am disciplined in my studies, and plan to pass with 75. But still I will complete Saunders and maybe the kaplan book INDEPENDENTLY before I take the course. The course will just be there to hone my speed and skills and as insurance that I will pass.
Hi,
i am soon to be a graduate of a nursing program and was wondering which one is the right one to take for the Online Kaplan NCLEX review. What is the difference between the Classroom Anywhere and the "On Demand" package. Also wanted to know if anyone thought the Online courses were helpful or the inperson course was better. Thanks for your help!
BTW, Are there any coupons out there for the Kaplan online course? thanks!

Many on this site have had success with the Saunder's book. I have not. Saunder's is a wonderful companion to nursing school, but I found that is was just too much info to get through for the NCLEX. Also, I think the Saunder's questions are not comparable to the NCLEX. Saunder's questions are incredibly watered down and simplified. I was scoring no lower than 70% and even 100% in some sections and I still failed the NCLEX.
Suffice it to say, I have signed up for Kaplan.
