Hi, I will be starting the RN program with Kaplan as soon as we relocate. My husband's in the Military so the wait lists at other colleges turned me away from them.
Do any of you go to Kaplan? If so, how did it work out for the student loans and stuff , I am confused. It seems as if tuition is around 45000 for the couple years of the program. I am eligible for the pell grant and the military grant of 3000 per year. But would the loans be able to cover everything else since it's a vocational school more than a traditional college? Thanks!
i wouldnt suggest you taking the cna classes at kaplan. its way too expensive. you can do the same thing at an adult school or a community college for alot less then what they are offering. if their rn program starts again in sept. 2010, you still have time to do the cna outside, and start applying for jobs as an aide. by then you would have your work experience in and your certification ; that alone can save you a couple thousand dollars. i think they are just trying to sell you into their cna program. I just recently applied for their nursing program for the jan.2010. i dont have my cna but i have over 3years work experience. i dont want to wait and i want to start asap. most of my college classes aren't transferable because they've been over 5 years. so i pretty much have to do the prereqs all over. its so competitive everywhere at the community colleges, etc. so i think kaplan is the best route for me. well good luck on whatever you decide. wish me luck.. im still waiting for a response from them if im accepted or not..(they say they'll start calling mid Dec!!!)
hi. did you pass the TEAS test and by how much ?. if you dont mind me asking?. so basically youre on their waitlist?
Hi ricerocket and anyone else who applied to the Jan 2010 ADN Program at Kaplan! I just found out today that I was accepted to the program! Now I've got to get my physical and BLS certification done before orientation so I don't lose my spot to an alternate! Has anyone else found out yet?
