  1. I believe the orientation dates in July will be for the December start. So if you go that route, you'll have nearly a year to save up for when it matters.
  2. No call today.. I'm so bummed. I left her a voicemail earlier this week and no answer back. I'm going to ask her what I could do better to improve my chances for the next cohort since it'll be my 3rd time trying. All is well though, at least I can still take this EMT course I've been wanting to do this spring semester! :) BTW - does anyone have any new updates with how many were enrolled when they went to their financial aid appointment?
  3. Wesley, speak to the reps and request that you be on their rollover list (I think you automatically are). If you came this close from making it, I'm sure you can apply and will be receive the pass for the next cohort as well. In the mean time save up that cash to afford the tuition! It's such a bummer to see that a small amount of money is the reason that's stopping you from chasing your future in nursing.
  4. So I went back a few pages and did a tally chart of who all were pre-selected for the financial aid process: jmira emt_anderson dexandmon daguirre3 + her friend kimoleka JesusIsGod Congrats again to all you guys. I ask that you guys keep your prayers for the rest of us (there's a few) with our phone calls. I feel like having a heart attack when another member checks in regarding their phone call. And thank you jmira, I'm waiting for a reply back before I rush over there with my letter of recommendations. Hehe.
  5. Congrats man! When is your financial aid appointment? Also, did you guys turn in letter of recommendations? I completely forgot and had one in hand and just e-mailed Rachel about it. Can't help but feel that I'm at a disadvantage with them storing my old interview on file, but hopefully she'll still allow me to come in and turn mine in.
  6. No phone call over here. Waiting anxiously as well. Let's hope this week brings some good news to all of us.
  7. Oh my, I knew there were news when I logged on to 3 new pages of unread posts! Hehe, congrats to you guys who have received phone calls! I'm sure that makes the rest of us much more anxious to wait by our phones even more now, lol. jmira, so they gave you the option to pay tuition through monthly cash payments? I have not so great credit either but have two co-signers ready for if I do get to go through financial aid. I want this so bad now knowing that you guys are continuing on. Best of luck to all of us, I'll be staying close with this thread daily now to see if there are any more updates.
  8. Thanks everyone, you guys all have really impressive scores. These were my scores excluding the science portions: HESI exam scores: 93.48% 90.00% 74.00% 85.83% 72.00% 74 being Vocab, and 72 Math. Staying positive despite the not-so-great scores though! Also, an update on my end! I just called ---- and was told that they'll be keeping my interview from my last cohort application. I was a bit thrown off by this as I agreed to re-take my interview when we reviewed test scores, but nevertheless, I'm a bit relieved to receive word about it. As you guys were probably informed, they're doing pre-selections (60-80) applicants around Christmas-New Years time, so hang in there guys. I'll be praying for all of us in this thread!
  9. And krystel - just fyi, there are a few male members in this thread (i.e. me & emt_anderson) who are trying to be nurses as well. Not all girls!
  10. Hi guys. First off I wanted to say a big thank you for emt_anderson for creating this thread and making it as big as it is today. I don't think there was a Everest College thread as big as this one until you came along, so big thank you to that. With that said, I truly do hope that the allnurses.com members on here do make it into the program. You guys all seem like very ambitious students searching for that opportunity so I wish the best for all of you guys. I'm curious to ask to see if anyone has received their phone call after the interview yet? I really feel like Rachel has forgotten about me, even though I'm on the prospective rollover list. I've wrote her a follow up e-mail regarding my interview appointment and nothing yet so far. I'm definitely staying positive about my situation despite seeing that the majority of the applicants have done their interview weeks ago. If you guys don't mind, I'd like to ask what you guys all scored for the HESI? I understand that interviews are based off how high you score so I'm just curious to see where I stand with the rest of you guys. Thanks everybody!
  11. Congrats and good luck to all you guys. I called in today and hoping a response back within the week. Jmira - did she say that there's already been 200 tested for interviews, or is that the amount of students who got to the interview level?
  12. Well punch me in the face for making assumptions. I was scheduled for the 8th and decided not to take the exam because I had no preparation. It was only the Chemistry, Bio & A&P that I was worried about (currently taking both chem and A&P this semester). Had I knew that you only needed to pass the English and Math, I would've gone. I'm really beating myself up after this.. last test exams, you were disqualified if you didn't pass any of the test sections and I assumed the same for this one. Guess not.
  13. Hey guys, just giving all prospective students an update with the entrance exams. I was informed in my rejection e-mail that they are phasing out the COMPASS exam and now replacing it with the HESI-RN exam, so study up! There's a great thread on this board that reviews over the HESI A2 exam that could be viewed here: HESI ADMISSIONS EXAM A2 (2009 tips) - Nursing for Nurses Best to luck to everyone with their preparations!
  14. Congrats jane with being accepted. I didn't receive a phone call this past motnh so I'm gonna give it another shot come August... sigh! Keeping my heads up for next time though... again congrats jane! Please stay in touch with us with your journey! :)
  15. The link is working fine for me but sure thing. The general education classes goes as followed: General Education I BIOL 1085C - A&P I** SLS 1105 - Strategies for Success ENC 1101 - English Composition 1 HUN 1001 - Nutrition** (Online) General Education I BIO 1086C - A&P II** CGS 2167C - Computer Applications MCB2010C - Microbiology** ** Prerequisite Course 1) Both were relatively easy if you do some studying. COMPASS, the easier of the two, could be reviewed and prepared for by looking on testpreppreview.com. PSB-RN - I studied the McGraw Nursing Entrance Exam guide a couple days prior and passed all sections. The science portion is most vital as I believe most students fail to pass this portion of the exam. 2) They gave us the option of getting our official high school diploma or transcripts to them, so yes, high school diploma is fine. Hope this helped!
