Hi All,
I am curious as to what a competitive applicant has for an ATI TEAS score, GPA, prereqs. I understand the minimum TEAS was 78, but it has been temporarily lowered to 65.
Obviously, the higher the scores the better, but what does an average accepted applicant's scores look like?
What is a solid TEAS score for acceptance, do I have to score in the 90s or are scores in 70s adequate?
Do most selectees earn A's on their Zoology and MICR, or are B's competitive? Essentially, I am wondering if I should fork out additional money to retake the zoology classes to raise the B's to A's or is that an unwise use of tight funds?
Any guidance is appreciated.
Yea I agree with you. I know of schools that will tell you and they will even tell the amount of points possible for each category they look at. Wish it was like that. :-/ I'll be fine with knowing how much alt there were and how much were accepted. Do you know whether they accept less for spring ? Because that's what I heard.
Omg. Im still waiting to hear back from my classmate. She had an 84 on her teas and 3.6 gpa with cna and all coreqs done. If she gets waitlisted, I am gonna start wondering if anyone got 4.0 and in the 90's for their TEAS. I am gonna do a walk in next week to talk to them about how to raise my chances. If I don't get selected this coming semester. I will be applying for Fall. And if still nothing for that, I will just major in Biology (Molecular Cell). Oh and I am planning on retaking the TEAS just to get my foot into UH. Taking it in Dec.
The accreditation? Is that the free cpr at UHM? No I gotta get signed up. Elley, I looked at FastCPR and they have their class for Medical CPR seperate from the AED certification class so you have to take two classes. But even so its about $150 for both not horrible, but I am so short of time these days its a stretch to even carve out 6 hours for the two classes in the day or saturday. Elley, let me know which one you get on, Im thinking AED cert on Saturday 26 Oct with FastCPR since you get your card same day, unless they let me take both back to back same day, maybe we can go to class together.

Hey guys,
This is my first time posting on here but I figured it was time to start since I'll be applying for the ADN program for fall 2014. I'm nervous as to whether I'll be accepted as well because I was just talking to a classmate of mine who said that a friend of hers tried getting into the program with a perfect GPA, perfect test scores (she must've been exaggerating!) and had everything possible to get in and still didn't get accepted! If that's the case, I really don't know how KCC picks their students!
Good luck to you all for next semester!
Thanks and welcome to allnurses Cupycake! I really don't know what to say about your classmate's friends case. A perfect test score, perfect GPA and possibly work experience, and he/she still didn't get accepted? I'm stumped.
Anyways, good luck with your application process for fall 2014!
I had to take a break from thinking about the program! What a let down. A friend of mine got accepted to KCC this semester. Her teas was 86 and gpa 3.8, all coreqs and she has her CNA but no hands on experience. She also applied for UH, but she said she will be going to KCC either way. I hope people who have applied to both will be going to UH not KCC.
Ellers, did you hear back from your friend?
I wonder if they will start letting atl listed students know after the October 29th deadline for the ADN Acceptance Conformation form. That would be great, then maybe a few more after the November 15th deadline.
Or do they let us know all at one time? I guess questions to ask at the orientation!
So, are we meeting then at the library before or after the orientaion session?

I don't know what'll happen if alternate students aren't picked. I don't doubt that they will send even a short "thank you for your effort...please try again next semester" note just to be nice.
One thing...kinda hope they told us our rankings and maybe points acquired from our stats tho. Hoping for a bit too much?
